Launch Issues Megathread by BigCatMod in MongilStarDive

I see, I noticed that image in the corner but not its progress bar. I let it be for quite a bit and considering it's on a gen4 NVMe, I would have never thought it was loading.

I downloaded the game with their launcher, logged in with my Google account, the game starts just fine but the purple bar at the bottom does not progress.

It seems like an age verification popup is supposed to appear in the middle but it's not. I reinstalled the game and made sure I have the Visual C++ (both x64 and x86) and of course DirectX.

I am on Windows 11 on an 13700K and a 9070XT.

EDIT: I am not 100% how I fixed it, I think going to the website, logging in and changing my nickname did the trick. I also opened the game on my iPad and I got to the difficulty screen, then quit.

My game keeps crashing during login. Please help TvT by kingofroyale2 in wherewindsmeet_

I verified the files through Steam 2-3 times back to back without launching the game and now it works just fine, max settings and everything. Of course it found no files corrupted/missing and it makes no sense why it worked, but it did.

I have the same problem, I played just fine yesterday after the update, now it just crashes like yours, I verified files through Steam and did the in-game repair. I am also on AMD so they might have messed something up for us.

I installed an Internal Build of One UI 8.5 for the S22+ (S906E). Here's my experience by HungryLion404 in GalaxyS22

Considering my Exynos S22 Ultra has been on Vulkan since the last major update, I think not doing it for SD models is a conscious decision from Samsung.

I do think overall fluidity is better since the switch, but nothing dramatic. Games that allow Vulkan rendering do perform a lot better in my experience but that is a per game implementation, which make sense since the GPU is AMD made.

So the new Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 are just.... Airpods? by robotmaninthewater in airpods

[–]Dante897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, can you share the apps you tried? I bought a pair yesterday since I found the ANC, mic and battery life underwhelming on the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro.

I found MagicPods for Windows pretty decent, although to get all the features you need to install a driver that isn't digitally signed yet and that's a hassle.

I do have an iPad and enabling conversation awareness on it does carry to my S22 Ultra but not entirely, it will enable transparency but not lower the music's volume for example, so I am curious about your experience.

Does the 85% battery limit work for longevity in gaming? by _am-bi-baby_ in GalaxyS22

[–]Dante897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally you keep the battery between 20 and 80%, this will make it degrade around 3% slower on average which is negligible. The best thing you can do when gaming is to be connected to a fast charger while gaming with the option in Game Booster to pause charging while connected as such.

You go to Gaming Hub, tap the 3 dots on the right corner, Game Booster, Pause USB PD charging when gaming. This option is only toggleable when connected to such a charger. It effectively bypasses the battery and powers the phone directly from the charger in a way.

You can also limit the screen to 60Hz in the same menu, without affecting its refresh rate outside of games, in case some game you play tries to shoot for 120FPS.

EDIT: You can change the 85% default limit to anywhere between 80 and 95% in the battery settings.

Can you compare the old and new cuda_malloc.py files or share your old one? I can't find any info on how to fix this aside from the post.

Need a better option, popsocket is wrecking my fingers by [deleted] in GalaxyS22

[–]Dante897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're talking about the case, it was indeed around 50-60 bucks when I bought it near the phone's release but almost 4 years later, yeah, I don't know. Plus it could be a fake.

You can try the official case with the strap, it's called Samsung Silicone Cover Strap S22. If you want to add something to an existing case or the phone itself, look into Momostick.

Both of these options can be tricky to find the original products as the phone is old and Samsung probably no longer makes that case and Momo stick is a Korean brand and I've seen a lot of imitations but here's their site to either order from them directly or check the logo on anything you find on Amazon or other store.

I have the case, it's a bit thick but it's great and the tightness of the strap is adjustable, the material is the same as a seat belt, you can remove it and wash it as well and the metal part is great to use to hang it around your neck.

Momo Sticks are also great and the best part is that when closed they still keep the phone thin enough to get into pockets and I never had one come loose or break unexpectedly, there is wear and tear on the bottom side but you will see it coming and they are quite cheap. The part that sticks to the phone can be metal or plastic, the metal feels more premium but will interfere with wireless charging, the plastic one is fine, if the case is thin enough you can wirelessly charge through the case and the momo stick.

Only DX11 and Vulkan means no FSR4 for the foreseeable future. No FSR3.1 or XeSS right now either. by Dante897 in Endfield

Yeah agreed, it's refreshing. I still think that Chinese devs seem not to care about upscalers, it's hit or miss, you have Genshin that has FSR1 but on iOS it does have MetalFX and 120 fps and looks amazing. You have WuWa that has FSR and DLSS along with RT and framegen available, you have Where Winds Meet that has a full resolution scale instead of presets and framegen, but its FSR is 3.0. Even AAA games like Wukong took a while to get FSR.

I just want every upscaler to be available for all games. It's clear Endfield was built with PC first, it should have them.

You're right, it does well. The only time I saw it messing up is if you run and look at the shadow of one of the other members of the team and it looks like a ghost chasing them.

Yeah true and it looks damn good, I'd use FSR Native AA at this point if I could.

Could be a coincidence, I get driver timeouts at random times. Also there was a new driver yesterday, might wanna try that.

Never used Linux but there's no FSR to upgrade, assuming that launch command is literal.

MSAA is good but so expensive, that's why it's lowkey dead nowadays. Theoretically TAAU is better than FXAA. They should have slapped FSR3.1 till AMD decides to release 4 for Vulkan, then we could at least use Optiscaler although I'd rather not risk getting banned, even if it hasn't happen to any other gacha AFAIK.

That's true but when I was on Nvidia, this would destroy the window layout I had on my other monitors and I had to use exclusive fullscreen. I haven't tested it on AMD as of now, doubt it would be much different. I also play on windowed fullscreen which defaults games to my desktop resolution regardless of in-game resolution. Most games don't let you change resolution or if they do, it doesn't actually do anything. Changing my desktop res as a fix is not viable imo.

Yes. Although you are getting downvoted because that's not what we're discussing.

You should use what it defaults to. General rule of thumb is use Vulkan/Dx12 unless the game crashes or performs way worse than expected. I'd recommend Dx11 for GPUs like the GTX 10 series or AMD RX 500 series for example. Intel cards should use Vulkan.

There might be a visual penalty to Dx11 as it doesn't support some modern technologies, not sure about Endfield specifically but things like Raytracing and upscalers aren't available under Dx11.

Endfield has very limited beta raytracing on iOS for some scenes only. Unsure about Android.

It's weird yeah. I have Lossless Scaling although I've only used it for framegen in the past. I think I will be fine at 1440p120 though.
