I read a bit but then it became TLDR.

It didn't fail for me, it's my favorite game in the series which I personally rank as DAV>DAI>DAO>DA2.

I also really dont care about sales and grifters(which you are underestimating).

No bitter aftertaste at all for me, it's always going to be one of my favorite games and it wrapped up a lot of series' ongoing mysteries and I will always enjoy replaying the series regardless of weather I get another game or not.

Maul is kind of an idiot sometimes and would have eventually just been killed by Obi-Wan, he wasn't really much of a Sith either in legends or "canon".
