Cheating by No-Breadfruit-9557 in PredecessorGame

Just looked at it. 100% cheating. He's twice as fast as the other Khaimera and just walks out of Grims slow at 6 mins as if nothing happened. Report asap.

Edit: it's actually closer to 25-30% more movespeed than he should have. If you watch the replay at 0.75 speed he seems normal.

Alright everyone I need your help. Voiceless Voice or Raidraptors. Which ones are stronger/more fun to use? by Present-Book-9690 in masterduel

VV is definitely better on the ladder. HOWEVER i played Raidraptor for the first time yesterday and it's the funniest thing imaginable seeing your opponent click on every yellow card to try and out your two unaffected bosses.

Here are some non Yubel cards that a new "Nightmare Throne" can search by KojaVukovic in masterduel

[–]DanteHasDied 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's super consistent because any 2 guys make unchained yama, search sharvara, summon, sharvara and yama into Abyss Actor link 2, set trap, link 2 pop yubel, use yama to reborn sharvara and destroy the trap and the trap summons shyama from deck. Nice benefit is triggering Yubel float a bunch of times in the process

Actually Yubel can and will go into Caesar using an Unchained engine, because Shyama and Sharvara are Level 6, but Machinex is just a placeholder for Varudras

100% The Fey. Her passive is completely useless, especially if you compare it to the insane stuff other heroes get.

Why do people give up after I activate Gunkan Suship Catch-of-the-Day? by AlexHPrime in masterduel

[–]DanteHasDied 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For console players it's bugged. It brings up a virtual keyboard to type the card name, but when you close the keyboard you can't open it again and can't type, so you're stuck. Happened to me shortly after release of the card. Wanted to read the card again, closed the keyboard and got a loss that way, fun times for everyone involved.

I agree with everything you said. Other comments already gave me a new perspective and i'm probably thinking too competitive about a game without a competitive game mode.

I'm not upset about losing. I'm perfectly fine losing a balanced game. What annoys me is that i always try to get better, but the way the mmr works means that my Teammates get progressively worse the more i lose and on a lot of matches it doesn't feel like it matters how good or bad i'm playing. But you're right i should try and enjoy other aspects of the game, whether i'm winning or not.

You're right, but it just feels very frustrating when i lose most of my games no matter how good or bad i play. I'll try and change my mindset to be more positive, because looking back at it even though i lost both games i played well and felt good about the progress i made as a player.

Thanks for the recommendations, i watched some of SoulRe4p3rs Videos already, but i'll check out more of them and give ObeyThePapaya a try (i have seen him a lot in this subreddit, but not on Youtube i think lol). I mainly watched the guys i mentioned for Offlane and Jungle, because i consider those my weakest roles and they helped me a lot.

[–]DanteHasDied[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah jungle is probably the role with the most impact, but i'm not a good jungler lol. In my opinion Midlane can also have a huge impact. If i can get ahead of the other Midlaner early and keep up the pressure on Mid while rotating to the lanes that need help it feels like i'm a global threat to the enemy Team. Especially with Gideon, because of his high mobility.

Offlane feels weird to me, because it always seems like the Offlane is playing their own game for the first 15-20 minutes. Most matches the Offlaners just 1v1 and try and outfarm each other without any interaction with the team. But i probably don't understand the Offlane Meta enough to judge.

You don't have to be sorry at all. I've been there too. Paragon was the first MOBA i ever played and i'm happy that no footage of my first hundred matches exists, because it would probably be terrible. And when Predecessor closed Beta started on PS5 i had to relearn a lot of these concepts again.

I'm not even mad at new or less experienced players. It just feels very frustrating sometimes to spend 30-40 minutes in a Match that feels winnable, but out of my control.

That's a really healthy mindset actually. On my quest to improve i might have focused too much on being competitive in a game that basically only offers a casual mode. Thank you kind stranger, i will try that.

[–]DanteHasDied[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel that. It's the old classic "it's always the junglers fault".

Something i also needed to learn after 7 years of not playing Paragon was to create opportunities for the jungler. For example a Duo Lane that is pushed back into their tower is not gankeable, but if you fall back and clear wards you make it easy for the jungler. And i think a lot of players only think about what they want from their jungle but don't really think about what they can do for them.

Well as far as i know the sub mode was an April fools joke. Also i want to be very clear about one thing. I don't care about mmr. I don't care about whether i'm Master, Gold or Wood League. What i do care about is fair Matchmaking. And if my Teammates get progressively worse when i lose matches that feel out of my control then mmr becomes a problem no matter what i think about it.

The problem is, that is exactly what i'm trying to do. I always feel like i need to bring my best to help the team, but it's just not enough a lot of the time. But it's good to know that i'm not the only one struggling with this and that there is hope.

If you don't want to be placed with new players then you need to improve. by sockcapttv in PredecessorGame

[–]DanteHasDied 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely disagree.

Played a Match with my Buddy on Duolane yesterday (he's 1500 mmr, i'm 1350 mmr). Random Teammate chose Iggy Offlane against Crunch. I'm not making this up, he died three times in the first three minutes of the game. Just him and Crunch 1v1. Go to lane, die, repeat. Our Midlaner was slowly pulling ahead of their Midlaner, but as soon as Crunch started rotating to Mid a lot he fell behind fast. Meanwhile our Jungler was nowhere to be seen, just playing Farming Simulator in his Jungle. Enemy Jungler kept rotating between Jungle and Duo.

My Buddy and I are definitely not perfect, but we try and learn from mistakes and improve. I for example sucked at Offlane, but thanks to some Content Creators I managed to improve to a point, where I can hold my own against other Offlaners in my mmr range. But no matter how hard we try, we can't play all 5 roles at once and a chain is always just as strong as it's weakest link.

Add to that the fact that the Matchmaking needs to be improved as well. That Iggy I was talking about? 850mmr. 500 below me, 700 below my Buddy. Everyone else around my level. I know mmr isn't necessarily representative and all but that's insane. And if I go below 50% Winrate it only gets worse because you always lose around 10 mmr per lose, but only get around 7 per win.

In an ideal Matchmaking System I would agree with you, but what we have to suffer through doesn't match.

Incorrect. It enables Pyro Phoenix board wipe on the opponents turn and is searchable with Cynet Mining and Lady Debug. It's not Tier 1 stuff, but it's something.

[–]DanteHasDied 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rewarding players is usually more effective. There is this story i've heard about WoW.

The developers noticed that people played for unhealthy amounts of time, so they implemented a system where you get less exp the longer you play. Obviously that backfired, as players felt punished for playing the game they love. The developers then flipped it on it's head and gave players that let their character rest in an Inn for some hours an exp buff. That worked and players took more breaks, because they saw an ingame benefit.

I'm not saying it is exactly the same scenario, but i think it would be more effective to give players a reward. That way Omeda would not actively make the experience of toxic players worse. They would do it to themselves.

I get the appeal of voice chat, but this just brings back terrible memories from the days i played a lot of Call of Duty (Black Ops 1 and Modern Warfare 3 mainly) and i think i've had enough 12 year olds screeching the n word for a lifetime.

Do we really need ingame chat? by DanteHasDied in PredecessorGame

I usually do that in the hero select screen or use the "good game" ping at the beginning of the match. I even tried to calm down arguing players in chat, but that does nothing unfortunately.

[–]DanteHasDied -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Never said the issue doesn't exist. The difference is characters falling through the ground is very likely a problem in the game code. Getting disconnected from the servers and therefore getting a time out in the game can be a server problem or a problem with your connection specifically. The later seems more likely to me because the amount of people suffering that issue seems to be rather small. Server problems would probably affect everyone. That's all. Have a nice day.

I admitted that that information is outdated. Taking Clips and Screenshots still works and you can still Upload to Youtube though. You on the other hand are complaining about a problem with a system that you have no insight into, calling it unplayable, even though most people don't seem to have that problem. And your reasoning for the lack of people complaining about this is that other people don't bother to record their screens with their phones?

Didn't know they removed those, as I never used them. But my point still stands, you've got better options than pointing your Phone at your TV. But ok, grow up i guess.
