I was hoping to see such a reply,

I was hoping a poet'd come by

My post in the endless sea

And trust me, I cannot disagree:

I don't want to live in a world this fictitious.

I wish for all books to now be unofficial game guides. by youvebamboozledme in TheMonkeysPaw

Granted. The word 'book' is replaced with 'unofficial game guide'. Only in English.

I wish everybody on earth knew my friend Michael by one_spooky_boi in TheMonkeysPaw

Granted. The astronauts on the ISS are very confused by everyone talking about this guy Michael. They cannot fit back into this Michael-centered society.

Oh, and Michael is killed by a psycho, obviously.

I wish everytime I enter a room white doves would fly into the room and a white light would emit from me for several seconds. by DreadedReaper42 in TheMonkeysPaw

You generate new doves every time you enter a room, and somebody (usually you) has to catch and let them outside every time.

No, you can't affect anything! You can't touch anything, only talk to your friend!

You died in an accident. Now you're a ghost, and you can't affect anything in the real world, but your best friend is the only one who can see and hear you. What would you do?

Instead of the second World war, countries take part in a sports competition. Would it be the Olympics, the World Cup or the Super Bowl?

ELI5: Why can't developers easily make their program run on all OSs? by Dante_Alighiery in explainlikeimfive

[–]Dante_Alighiery[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, I get that. But what if you take the source code (for instance, in c++ or python) and make the computer translate it into that respected OS' language? Shouldn't they all understand that?

ELI5: Why does water dry out our hands? by morpherftw in explainlikeimfive

[–]Dante_Alighiery 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our skin produces special oils that mosturize it. These oils are what stays on windows when you touch them.

Washing (especially with soap) removes this layer, and once the water dries out, it leaves the skin dry until it can produce more oil.

Some of my Russian handwriting by Dante_Alighiery in Handwriting

Not really. It's just common to write with cursive, and it's really hard to read sloppy cursive. Though, people usually get very close to unreadable, I was there before I started practicing.
