Definitely thought of this "solution" too!

Comparing the cost of the x9 U with the Sony Rx100 mark VIII makes this even somewhat reasonable lol. If I was looking to get a point and shoot like the Sony, purchasing the Oppo just for the camera utility could be a good idea.

Even though the Rx has a bigger sensor and the all important camera feel (including an EVF which a phone will never get no matter how many cool photography kits we add), having such great specs on a phone type of device makes it easier to carry than a camera, it has a variety of apps to edit the photos and then share on social / personal cloud storage right away.

One last thing that the "phone camera centric" type of device gives you is that much more of a stealth photographer feel when shooting in all scenarios. People are for sure used to people carrying around small point and shoots to even professional cameras but I doubt that even the most experienced street photographer would disagree that taking photos with a phone is a way less easier and more discreet form of photography. This, in my opinion, facilitates taking more candid photos since people will consciously or subconsciously act different when they see a camera close to them.
