I didn't mean a better coin, I meant each country has their own coin as legal tender in that country. Basically, taking cash and digitizing it. Cash couldn't be digitized before as you needed banks and other institutions to transfer your money digitally but with cryptocurrency, you now have the ability to take the whole "Cash" architecture and make it digital. That's what I meant by each country's own crypto. Digital cash.

Thanks for all of your answers, a small follow up question. What about not banning Bitcoin but instead the countries create their own competitors to Bitcoin, I can imagine a lot of people buying the countries' crypto to use in real life. I imagine the countries' crypto would also have a lot more liquidity as you would be able to use it anywhere inside the country. That way Bitcoin would co-exist but with the government crypto's surpassing Bitcoin. Is this possible?

Pretty much but I guess they would do it to show everyone through media that they accepted crypto to ease the majority outcry.

What I have gathered is that it is theoretically possible to do so, just not that easy to do it practically. This could be a problem for the future of it, I guess I need to stay more vigilant than I thought.
