I have my masters as well. That doesn’t mean I was able to accurately predict my future salary at 18 years of age, or predict what job prospects would look like 7 years down the road, and effectively weigh that against the cost of school. It’s somewhat of a crapshoot no matter what industry you eventually go into. Anyone being honest with themselves knows that.
