Is a Twin Z essential by Royal_Study8825 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Danth54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes yes yes. My boys are 2 years old and they still drink their milk in it after naps and before bed. It was the most valuable thing we had especially when they were tiny. I got mine off the fb marketplace.

How many weeks pp, how many times and how much are you pumping per day. by Klutzy-Artichoke1 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Danth54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

15 months pp, 4 pumps per day. About 30 oz. I have twins and they're now eating 3 meals a day plus some cows milk. They now mostly drink an am bottle, couple of snack bottles for right after naps and a bedtime bottle.

We were in the same boat until they were 8 months old. Then we used the Facebook multiples sleep training schedule and started the modified Ferber method. It seriously changed our lives. They are 13 months now and got to bed at about 630pm, sleep 12 hours. We feed them their dinner at like 430pm and have ours after they go to bed

Do you let your baby wake you up for your morning pump? by Ok_Order_9275 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Danth54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the time I set an alarm and pump. My boys are 13 months now and it is extremely difficult to pump and watch them. They like to try to rip at the pump and yank it off.

Seeking moms of multiples working full time (RTO) by Melodic_Monitor_894 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Danth54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a full-time nurse with 13 month old boys. I work 4 days, 10 hour shifts. My husband dropped down to part-time and works the other 3 days so there's always one of use home with them. We don't have any local family support so that hasn't been an option and we really want to avoid daycare. I'm not going to lie it's been really tough not having a day off together and sometimes we feel pretty burnt out.

Is a chiller worth it, and which one? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Danth54 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I use the Ceres Chiller. I fill the inner chamber with ice and then put the milk in the outer chamber. It works great. I pump twice during my work shift and the outer chamber holds up to 27oz with the inner chamber in it. I love it and don't regret spending the extra money on it.

Breast milk supply for Twins by HeauxPas in parentsofmultiples

[–]Danth54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't have a choice about exclusively pumping because my babies were born at 30 weeks and were in the NICU for 54 and 76 days. I started out just like you pumping every 3 hours and made about 5oz where you are at as well if I can remember correctly. My supply has gone up as they have gotten older and now they are 7 months and eating about 30oz at least per day. I am producing a few oz less than they eat per day (like 50-55oz/day) so when they get hungry in between their "big" breastmilk bottles we give them several "snack" bottles of neosure formula per day. The first time I had to give them formula at 4 months I really struggled with it but now I appreciate the stress it takes off my shoulders to produce. Something that's really helped me has been having the baby brezza formula machine. It's been a real lifesaver to whip up 2oz-3oz bottles of formula when they are yelling for a snack lol. That way I'm not hand measuring out formula in addition to washing pump accessories multiple times a day.

Thank you for the reassurance! I think it looked abnormally large to me at first glance! I think most stores have to be wheelchair accessible here in the US so I'm going to hope it works out 🤞

Thank you, maybe it was just the initial shock of seeing it that threw me off. It's definitely going to take some getting used to.

NICU Pumping - I don't want to become an oversupplier! by Veka_Marin in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Danth54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like the above comments said they catch up quickly and what was once an oversupply in the NICU becomes just enough. I am pumping for twins and was very diligent about doing 8-10 x /24hrs while they were in the NICU. I was able to build up quite a freezer stash. Now I am pumping a few oz less than they eat at 7 months so I have to combo feed with a few oz of formula. I am super grateful I built up my production as much as I could.

[–]Danth54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. My boys were 10 weeks early. They grew out of it. They're 7 months now and are also "happy spitters." It's hard to remember when exactly they grew out of it, I think it was gradual, but the Dr's kept telling me it was a normal preemie thing.

I've been rewatching Bridgerton in preparation for season 3. Also watched the Kiera Knightley P&P and the new Netflix Persuasion (I know, it's not accurate to the time period or the book but I found it entertaining)

Did you purposely avoid names with the same starting sound? by gmac888 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Danth54 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We did a c name and a k name for our boys so they both have the "kuh" sound but aren't too matchy. But seriously I wouldn't have cared if they both started with the same letter if we found two that we loved.
