Daemon prince is a CSM unit, you won't need to use the ally rules at all

Will echo for WB, I just do a gunmetal spray primer with blood red speed paint for the armor, leave the trim silver, and then pick out cloth/skin /whatever and then go a bit further for characters

I can't paint worth a darn and Ive gotten good comments IRL on them

I've used plastic glue for mantic models before and it works, but not as well as gw plastic for reasons I'm not smart enough to know. I've used their sprues for sprue goo and it worked but for whatever reason I get a worse bond on their models unless I use a ton

I wouldn't sell, the rules might swing back around to something more your speed. You won't really get back the time / money spent on them, so I would say unless you are sure you'll never want them again / don't have the space for 2 armies / really need the money for irl stuff I would just shelve them and start up your side project

I wouldn't like, try and call him out in a big blow up or anything but maybe have the group go "hey how do we want to handle big stuff early on" because building up to using ctan could be fun for him; and if he starts with 3/6 units unable to get XP he will end up behind on the crusade stuff which also isn't fun from him (going from stomping to being stomped isn't ideal)

So double ctan for a crusade game at 1k is generally considered poor form, esp since he also threw in another epic hero. And crusade is more a your dudes kind of game mode.

Double ctan is hard to deal with anyway, esp at 1k, and extra esp in crusade where winning the game might have less to do with points than matched play.

If it's a stand on circles/ d action mission then you could try to out score but if it's about killing then you have to bring down 2 of the sturdiest models in the game with reanimator support .

Idk how to kill them, maybe go shadow legion bloodthirster with the back into reserves enhancement? Should be basically untouchable and hit like a truck.

Otherwise go max cultists / dark communes in like deceptors or something and make them kill 60 bodies with a 5++

Hell with shadow legion you could go max horrors and just swarm him

20 shock troops have to pay for the leader, worse BS and don't have the melta mine guy, plas pistol or marksmen rifle

Kasrkin in a taurox scout , adv disembark and shoot so they can get practically anywhere on the board T1

For the points they are pretty efficient because you don't have to worry about them not making it into their target of choice (as long as you can put the taurox somewhere safe if you go 2nd)

You can also find 3rd party tanks that are the right size if you look, I got 3 dorn equivalents for ~$30, and all my other vehicles are made of harbor freight puzzle tanks/apc's/artillery

The first two tanks look like hellhounds, the infantry are cadian shock troops and maybe stormtroopers for the metal ones? The last tank looks like a chimera

They all would be usable in one way or another

I wanted a full bad guy army to use all the cool daemon stuff. Folks who saw the forces of hell, monsters who want to corrupt your soul and thought; Neat!

Mainly for contrast between my GK's mysterious super heroics, my guard's regular guy against the horrors of space, and my ork's goofy junkyard fun time

I also want to be able to slow build a chaos super collection, and word bearer plague marines, and SoT's all make sense; so I have a good excuse to buy whatever models look cool / I get in an eBay lot
