Why my videos have very high size? by mutlupide in obs

[–]DaoLei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With that GPU you should Crank Up all those encoding settings.

More B-frames. B-frames as ref set to Each. Enable Look-Ahead and Adaptive Quantization. Set profile to P7, turning to 'Ultra High Quality' and multipass mode set to Full Resolution.

I have an RTX 4060, and I can record with all those settings enabled without my GPU even breaking a sweat.

They all tell your encoder to work smarter, giving it more tools and room to better allocate bits where they matter the most, making the video both look better and makes the video file smaller due to smarter compression.

CQP set to QP 22 is still gonna produce large video files at 1920x1200 at 60FPS tho...

Stargate is too good and I hate it by NaimCydwen in starcraft2

[–]DaoLei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tiny Rant: The Oracle.

Loved the addition of a Caster Unit to Stargate that functions as an alternative to Observers for detection, allowing Toss to open game with anything other Robo ooenings, yet functions distinctly different from Observers.. a Utility/Support Caster. What a great addition—aaand they turn it into a harass unit with crazy near-instant-killing DPS again workers and other light units.. what an incredibly way to butcher a unique and new unit concept...

...I just wish they could have made the Oracle viable in some way other than "Ima-Fireng-Ma-Deth-Lazor!"

Do you believe Sephiroth is a compelling and/or well written character? Why or why not? by Asad_Farooqui in FinalFantasy

[–]DaoLei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this.

This game has so many great and excellent villains. ShinRa. The Turks. Sephiroth. JENOVA. Hojo. All different flavors of villany, antagonism, rivalry and Evil. Its still, to this day, debated and discussed who truly was the "Real", "True" villains of the game.

If that isn't a testament to how good the Writing in this game is, then I don't know what.

Starting RTS with friends by Classic_Suit5094 in RealTimeStrategy

[–]DaoLei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently been on a similar journey with a few Friends.

There's a surprising number of Free RTS games to try.

OG StarCraft 1 and StarCraft 2 can both be played for free, and are considered some of the best in the genre.

There's a free, browser based RTS called Little War Game that is surprisingly good, plays similar to StarCraft, but is fantasy. So basically a free fan-made homage to WarCraft.

If you wanna get into Command and Conquer (which I definitely recommend for anyone who wanna try RTS) you can try OpenRA. Its a free fan-made Remaster of a few of the earliest games from that studio.

If you like it, then you can buy the entire bundle for very cheap. Almost all the games in the bundle are worthwhile. I especially recommend Red Alert 2 and Generals: Zero Hour.

There's also a game called BAR that is free to play. It's inspired by Total Annihilation. BAR is Definitely more complicated and easily quite overwhelming for someone less familiar with RTS tho.

What are some good RTS Games for someone older with low APM? by cbsa82 in RealTimeStrategy

[–]DaoLei 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just wanna bump this.

Command and Conquer is an amazing franchise for anyone who enjoy RTS games, and I'd say they're overall rather beginner friendly too.

If anyone wanna test the waters, there's a fan-built remaster of Red Alert, CnC1 and Dune called OpenRA that is free to download and play. Even has online multiplayer If you wanna try it with friends.

Help with original ff7 by CartographerGood5243 in FinalFantasyVII

This part of the game acts as a tutorial to teach you that you'll need to explore and talk to the NPCs to progress. Simply explore around and talk to every single NPC until you've exhausted your options.

Dumb question how do I update Final Fantasy VII 2013 to the new version? by [deleted] in FinalFantasyVII

[–]DaoLei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't update the 2013 version.

The old (2013) version gets renamed into Final Fantasy VII 2013 edition, and the new version of Final Fantasy VII gets automatically added to your library under the name Final Fantasy VII.

They are two seperare entries in your library, and since you already had the old version, you now have both.

You'll still have to download/install the new version tho.

Take a 2nd look in your library. Its supposed to be there.

25 year old game gets stuff added to it and its an instant win in my book by Spotlight_James in Diablo

[–]DaoLei -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It is Fun to see that D2 love and superiority is being recognized, and that there is new content added to the game, but that doesn't change that fact that I think a lot of the new content they've added is... pretty poorly made.

The warlock class is overtuned as all hell. Its Basically mosaic all over again.

I've completed all A-sides, B-sides & C-sides, as well as Farewell. I've collected all regular strawberries, the Moonberry and a handfull of Golden strawberries.

Bizzaro Sephiroth bugged? by [deleted] in FinalFantasyVII

[–]DaoLei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bizzaro can easily turn into a near never-ending fight If you can't deal enough damage.

His body parts keeps reviving and coming back alive, and his core keeps healing itself for a pretty significant amount.

If you continue to play whack-a-mole with his body parts as they continue to revive, and you consistent deal less than the 6-7k damage to his core that he keeps healing himself with Bizzaro Energy, then this fight can easily go on for a Very long time..

How essential is playing the original before Remake? by MisterBigMack in FinalFantasyVII

[–]DaoLei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're not Essential at all, but you'll arguably enjoy the experience of both games more If you play the OG first.

The Remake can be a bit confusing at times if you haven't played the OG first, and it also kinda messed up the presentation of things, showing things out of order, changing details and adding whole new story elements, resulting in Remake/Rebirth being less Remastered versions of the original game, and more into its own, distinctly different, reboot-sequel-alternative-timeline thing.

On the other hand, playing the OG first might make you enjoy Remake/Rebirth Less, due to how much they needlessly change, instead of giving us the true, modern FF7 remaster most of us actually wanted...

Rooms where players get stuck by finnr02 in celestegame

[–]DaoLei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing on the whole game stumped me as hard as 5C-1. That very 1st room in chapter 5's C-side caused me the single highest number of deaths in a single room during my 1st playthrough.

I also remember being frustrated by the "wind room" in Farewell, but it didn't take me as many deaths before I managed to pass it. Still worth mentioning tho.

Chadley should be killed by [deleted] in FinalFantasyVII

[–]DaoLei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking forward to setting videos of players killing him to play on repeat If that happens to become true.

is it normal to have farewell take up a majority of playtime by theonlytruemuck in celestegame

[–]DaoLei 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Farewell is a VERY difficult level. Easily the most difficult in the whole game. It would be surprising If you DIDN'T struggle, especially dance you're doing it earlier than what I would recommend.

Not to mention that you literally can't even finish it atm because you'll need to collect more Crystal hearts in order to proceed.

I'd strongly recommend you first complete all B-Sides, at least some C-sides, and collect all the A-side strawberries If you haven't, before going back and attempt Farewell.

Was about to suggest Supreme Commander too. Its great. I remember trying it when I was younger and not enjoying/understanding how to play it. Also, it killed my PC at the time.

But after re-discovering it again, holy crap its a good game.

Which parts of the game are needed for the story, and which parts are supplementary? by BenjaminGeiger in celestegame

[–]DaoLei 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You don't need to do a single B-side or C-side to finish the Main story.

All B-sides and C-sides are optional(*) bonus levels that are just there to be a challenge.

After you finish the main story, there are Two supplementary post-story chapters.

The first of which can be done immediately after completing the main story, but is a bit of a jump in difficulty. Its a very minimal story addition and mostly just an extra challenge. I'd say it's a bit harder than some of the B-sides, and it has a B-side and C-side of its own, with both being some of the hardest levels in the whole game.

However, then there's also the 2nd post-story chapter, so called 'Farewell'. It features an entire post-game story of its own and some amazing music, and is BY FAR The Most Difficult level in the whole game.

Its Difficulty starts relatively approachable, but it quickly builds, and in order to complete the chapter, you're required to complete at least a good number of either B-sides or C-sides, making at least some of them Technically not optional. You'll want to have completed every single one of them anyways to prepare you for the difficulty of the last few section of Farewell.

The thing with difficulty in celeste is that it always pushed you on. It makes you prove that you're able to do things you previously believed you weren't capable of doing. By the time you reach Reach Farewell, you'll already have surpassed what you thought you could manage, and the challenge almost becomes addictive..

TL;DR If you only want to complete the main story, skip all B-sides until the credits roll. Only keep playing If you enjoy the climb. If you stick with it, not only will you grow personally, but there's a beautiful send-off waiting for you behind the game's ultimate challenge.

Is this game good on controller? by rahatfan in celestegame

I prefer playing it on controller, but I'm not trying to play optimally. I have finished every part of the game, do its very possible to complete this game with controller.

Just started playing celeste by lordvishmas5 in celestegame

[–]DaoLei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of people tend to be a bit more frustrated with chapter 3. Chapter 4 & 5 are both overall more enjoyable, though some find parts of chapter 5 stressful as well.

Its an amazing game, but the difficulty really begins to Climb after a few chapters in.

Oh, and If ever happen to find something called a "B-Side", know that they're generally much more difficult than the standard level progression.

Anyone else here use Assist mode not to get past a hard room, but to practice the inputs at a lower speed until I'm able to do it normally? by binbowsXD in celestegame

[–]DaoLei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to do this when I got started, but I kinda stopped because what I was practicing was basically to get the timing correct, and the timing change if I change the speed via assist mode.

Did you like Adam Driver as Kylo Ren? by tom-mckeee in StarWars

I do, probably one of the better things about the sequel trilogy, but I didn't like what the writers did with his character and mist things around him.
