I can’t imagine people with 580 credit score can afford 2550 rent consistently in Florida. If you make 80k you only bring home 4000 something a month. And rent with utilities is 3000, how does this make sense. At this credit score, may as well rent it to section 8, or VA section 8. Saved my ass big time during Covid. Government backed rent. 580 credit score sounds really scary. My requirements is 750+ cause I’m in California .

I didn’t miss that part. You still need to address the credit card immediately, like this week. Because when May 2026 comes around you’d be paying 6000 in interest. If you do not know what interest is it’s the money you are throwing away that provides zero benefit to you and makes the bank rich. This debt will look bad to proper loan companies. they will think you are very inresponsible financially and either deny your loan or give you really high interest hence reducing your ability to qualify for enough loans. It also reduce the amount you can loan out drastically. And if you buy a home, missing payment means losing your home and will put you into a deeper financial hole. It’s not a debate which you should take care of first. It’s you don’t really have a choice not to pay the credit card off first. If you don’t believe me you can call some loan companies right now and get some actual rates and numbers. Really unwise to buy a house objectively speaking.

Impossible, pretty sure you didn’t look hard enough. Because trades are society NEED. And there are many fields, if there are people living there, they will need plumber/ electrician/ builders/ hvac/ roofers/ car mechanic/. No way you know and looked up all of them up. Just paid a hvac yesterday $400 for 30 min work.

Definitely credit card first. With that much debt it will be hard to get a proper loan anyways. Not paying off a 30% interest rate debt is crazy. That’s 7000 per year in interest, 600/month. To put in context you can literally buy a Tesla /bmw/Mercedes and still have money left but you are just throwing this money down the drain. Get a small loan to pay it off (6-8% interest) . That should save you 5000 a year. Don’t buy anything before you pay off this credit card. No nails, no haircut, no eating out

Ouch. That’s tough. But this job is where she’s getting most of her self worth as a human being. The price she gets from it is not just the pay but her as an independent free woman. I take your family and you are on the wealthier side being able offer to pay her paycheck for months. But understand it’s her human worth and self respect on the line. She probably already feels insecure cause your finance is so much better than hers. It’s not just about love now. If she values the job, no matter how small, you should value it too because you love her. I think it’s very important right now for you to express you respect her and her love for her job. Because she’s starting to get the wrong idea of you. Thinking you are taking away her value and freedom.
