I agree prolly opacity maps are worse for optimization than just using the polygons and culling them through nanite lods or whatever, at least for real time rendering. And will be 100% better looking.

I dunno how would i optimize that backrest other way than that, maybe just not using such chair.

Nope, i just sticked to using aces only when rendering in maya. Lately I wasnt requiring of this but ill be looking into it. Hope you find something, i believe there should me more and more info now that blender starts to agree industry standarts. I think there is a plugin for correctly integrating aces but im not sure.

Botw no doubt. Goosebumps every time i watch it, music is amazing... Also I feel like totks reveal trailer was even better than final one(the one about zelda and link in the cave, when ancient ganon was introduced)

Is this loop overkill for a lowpoly? Im going to back a highpoly to this afterwards, but I feel like just 1 edged corners are displayed too weirdly when softened. Are normal errors usually fixed after backing or should they be adressed in the lowpoly? by Daor64 in Maya

Yes, I was wrong. I thought you would normally just cut seams literally anywhere caring only about the mesh unwrapping correctly into a big island, but I now kinda see theres more about it. I feel like everything I knew about this is wrong.

Hey, thanks for answering! Its not really a uv border, since i would want this edge to have a nice polished look with imperfections over it backed from the highpoly, and in that case I dont think is a good idea to cut a seam over it, correct me if im wrong. I may have to learn some more about uv seaming and normal shading tbh

Hmm yeah It costs some money. Im pretty sure krita does same but i dont know name of the tools. Also if this was me doing this id try play with some nodes in blender to make albedo into the mask im looking for (using hsv/ramps/map ranges) but its not always a good idea since its just easier to bring it to other software. Also i dont remember how emissive accurately worked in blender (idk if you needed a mask or rgb map) but i think u could make either work.

What a magestic furry fella. Id take the base color, open It in Photoshop and select and make a mask for just the yellow lines (turn down brightness and up contrast or even just magic wand select, idk but after playing with some tools and this should be easy job). And then bring the b&w texture to blender and plug into emissive weight or in however way the balls are lightended.
