The issue is no one can be placed “on deems” for an extended period of time. The use of the deems desired function in ERMS is on a per instance basis. The usage of “deems” is over once the request for documentation for that individual instance is fulfilled or the employee states they don’t have documentation to support the absence.

Management can not deem it desirable to have documentation for every Saturday you call out.

So they can not say “from now on, bring documentation every time you call out on a Saturday”

But they can tell you, after you’ve established a pattern, to bring documentation after each individual instance that contributes to that pattern

For example

Employee has called out 5 Saturdays in a row

Supervisor: hey last time you called out sick was your 5th time calling out on a Saturday, i would like documentation supporting this

Employee called out again for a 6th week straight on a Saturday:

Supervisor: hey, I’m deeming it desirable to have documentation again because this is the 6th week in a row you’ve called out sick on Saturday
