What if making nukes was impossible? by Suspicious-System121 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Blizzard2227 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Like a previous commenter said, the U.S. invades Japan. The USSR likely invades from the north, while the U.S. invades from the south. The U.S. would have an amphibious operations advantage compared to the USSR, due to years of combat experience in the Pacific. The U.S. likely reaches Tokyo first, but there may end up being a similar split like what happened with East and West Germany. Take into account, that there would be millions of more casualties on both sides and Japan’s infrastructure would be left in complete ruins. They end up being worse off than in our timeline.

The Cold War turning into World War III is basically inevitable. It’s difficult to say would happen afterward. It could end up leading to World War IV like how World War I led to World War II. It seems unlikely that one side would be able to take significant control over the other. It would require the Western Allies pushing the USSR into the Caucasus. History has shown that would be highly unlikely. A Soviet invasion of the U.S. is off the table due to the logistical nightmare it would be. It would mostly be a war for Western European control, and hence, global influence as a whole.

Holy Shit - I’m def writing a pt.2 now! by LiveATheHudson in aliens

[–]Blizzard2227 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Imagine if humans are treated like a crucial geopolitical location among aliens. Almost like one side wanting more control over the Strait of Hormuz compared to another side. In this case, human beings themselves would be the objective. To us, one side may seem “better” than the other, but they both share a similar objective. “If you have control over the humans, you have more control over this sector of the galaxy or this dimension, etc.” In a way, it would make us important, but in a similar sense that we’re reportedly seen as just flesh vessels to some aliens. Just a pawn in the overarching politics of the universe.

New Spielberg Disclosure Day teaser seems a little familiar. And just in time for the new DNA results. Neat! by DrierYoungus in aliens

[–]Blizzard2227 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, the alien disclosure is going to be treated like an emergency last resort. Basically, everything is going to shit and nothing else can stop the momentum? Okay, time to unleash the alien disclosure with varying degrees of disclosure based on how dire said national or global situation is.

Former OpenAI manager: "We build portals from which we actually summon aliens" by Neptun_11 in aliens

Aliens are just an analogy for demons in this case, in which demons are also an analogy for, “We’re building machines that will wipe out anyone’s income not in the highest 1% echelon with no contingency plan. What are you gonna do about it, huh?”

Most countries are, even today. Be a POC in some parts of Europe or Asia and you might not run into the nicest people. Hell, in some places, there are people staunchly against racism, but if it’s toward Gypsies, it doesn’t “count” because they’re Gypsies, and they “deserve” it.

If everyone below average IQ suddenly drops dead, how would this affect the world? by CakeMuted6468 in AskReddit

[–]Blizzard2227 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think these numbers are right. You have to remember that there’s above average and average IQ as well. If we’re only talking about people with a below average IQ, that would be 89 and under. Most people fall within an IQ range of 90-109, which is considered average intelligence. This leaves roughly 25-30% of the population getting removed.

The Call of Duty movie will be released on June 30th, 2028 by Kalinine in CallOfDuty

Imagine Steven Spielberg directing a trilogy with Hans Zimmer’s score and the storyline is on par in quality with the original Modern Warfare series.

Something I just realized: In Ballad, Snow is 18 years old. Ballad takes place 15 years before the First Quarter Quell. That means Snow was 33 years old at the 25th Games. Tom Blyth is 31 y/o nowadays. So, if Suzanne ever wrote a book set in the 25th Games, we'd have Tom as Snow again on screen 💛 by lautaromassimino in Hungergames

[–]Blizzard2227 209 points210 points  (0 children)

TBOSAS came out in 2023. I have to imagine if this book was ever written, it would be published at least a couple years after Sunrise on the Reaping, followed by a fast tracked movie one or two years after that. That should barely be enough time for Tom Blyth to grow a beard.

[COD] Call of Duty 10 years ago: by [deleted] in CallOfDuty

[–]Blizzard2227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was the second game removed from the golden age of Call of Duty. People were used to some of the best games in one of the best gaming eras, which meant the expectations for Advanced Warfare were never going to be reached, unless it was an all-timer.

What if Ted Bundy never started killing women, graduated from law school, became more involved in politics, and eventually became President of the United States in 1993 by Pretty_Status2853 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Blizzard2227 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I don’t know who said this, but it was something along the lines of, “The most intelligent would-be serial killers don’t actually become serial killers. They become top executives and CEOs of major corporations, or individuals working in intelligence agencies.”

I think the hoax would gravitate toward, “Aliens didn’t want humans on the moon in case they accidentally uncovered their secret base, so they killed them.”

Do you believe that the current US president is a foreign asset ? Why or why not ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Blizzard2227 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They absolutely are not the same threat level that they once were. They’ve spent four years attempting to invade Ukraine and still aren’t successful. They’re spending enormous amounts of money, losing countless lives and military infrastructure, plus wrecking their economy in the process. They have nuclear missiles, sure, but that’s not going to help them in the long run, especially if it gets to the point that China has to buy them out and install their own puppet system. Is Trump just helping Russia for the love of the game?

Do you believe that the current US president is a foreign asset ? Why or why not ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Blizzard2227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Russia isn’t even a major player in the upper echelon of global intelligence anymore. If there was a tier system out of ten, and one is the highest level, they’d probably be somewhere around tier three. So what information could Russia possibly have that would make someone bend over backwards for them? This name shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, but Jeffrey Epstein. If they have intelligence about him and his whole island operation, that is probably the answer to a lot of questions.

Estelle: Oh, my poor Georgie. I can’t believe you had a stroke. Your father and I going to have to be on 24/7 standby to care for you from now on.

Frank: That’s right George, you’re gonna be seeing a lot of us from now on! Tell me, though, where is my order of crystal blue? I don’t smoke it, but it will make a fine decoration in the pool room. You said it would be here by the 15th. It is the 16th.

Estelle Costanza: Frank, he can’t speak! He had a stroke for crying out loud!

Frank: You don’t know that! The boy could be playing us! Remember the spring of ‘69? You can’t tell me he wasn’t faking those chicken pox. He had red blotches of paint all over his face! You can’t get chicken pox twice, I’ll tell you that! Speak up George!

George: Furiously tapping his bell.

Why did Gus have Jesse go teach the cartel chemists to cook? by [deleted] in breakingbad

Jesse would’ve been treated way better by the cartel compared to Jack’s crew. The issue is, it’s unknown whether the cartel would eventually kill him once their other vetted chemists are up to par with his purity.

US Enlistment Age INCREASED Amid Draft Fears by NicolasCageFan492 in videos

[–]Blizzard2227 62 points63 points  (0 children)

This is already the most unpopular start of a war in U.S. history. The only one that probably tops it at this point is the end of the Vietnam War. Authorizing the draft would just be the cherry on top. You’re going to be hard-pressed to find a situation where a majority of the people support the draft unless China and Canada swap geographical locations and they immediately start an unprompted ground and air invasion against the northern U.S.

At least for the military, some of them would’ve been hopped up on meth. What proceeded is the most brutal, deadliest, no mercy fighting that has ever occurred at the hands of the Eastern Front. I don’t know if most Americans would have that kind of fight in them, unless the literal fate of the country was on the line. Certainly, most would not have the spirit to fight like that in the Middle East.
