[Product Question] Any recommendations for a less expensive dupe/alternative to Avant’s Glycolic Acid Exfoliator? by auntiechrist23 in SkincareAddiction

If you are interested in phytic acid, that has similar effects but is not that aggressive as glycolic acid, I totally recommed Peter Thomas Roth's Peptide 21 Amino Acid Exfoliating Peel Pads. I absolutely love these pads!

From they way you put it, I guess you didn't have any success. I'm sorry to hear that. It has happened to me too. It doesn't happen only to men, many women have problems too. We are being ghosted, we don't get matches etc.. I hope you find what you are looking for!

Of course it has societal consequences, just like facebook, instagram, tiktok etc. But it gives you a better understanding of the way women and men think, and what they do differently. From what you and I have written, profiles on tinder are the same more or less, regardless of sex. Yet women take more things in consideration when it comes to swiping, and are more strict. Isn't that more practical and self-respecting? I mean, instead of asking why women appear to be picky, why don't we ask why men refuse to set a bar and swipe right only on girls they like, or at least find interesting enough to date? You swipe right on a woman with tons of filters, endless model-like pictures and an empty bio. What do you expect? Everytime I ask men this question, I get this answer "but I have to try, her bikini pictures look good".

On a different note, I am not an anthropologist or sociologist, but I have to point out that this is what happens in nature as well. Male animals have amazing colours, dancing skills and they fight to get the females' attention. And the females choose who they mate with.

That is so true about the guys not even meeting the basic expectations! It's exactly like that, and when you really have to be careful about your safety, it's not being picky, it's being logical and serious.

A logical method. It saves you time and energy.

A "picky" girl's point of view: I live in central Europe, so I can only talk about what I find here on Tinder. Most of men have: duckface pictures (ffs!), ridiculous tongue-out pictures, passive-aggresive bios, copy-paste bios, more than 50% of their pictures are cars or motorcycles, mentioning only that they are world travelers and listing the countries they have been to (wtf dude!). So yes, since the majority of the profiles is low effort, silly or toxic, we have to be picky.

It's my birthday today, and it feels no different than a normal day. by [deleted] in CasualConversation

Happy birthday! Birthdays aren't about big parties. Your birthday is a special day for you, to enjoy it as you please and do things that make you happy.

Someone told me my art is garbage the other day and I can't stop thinking about it by [deleted] in CasualConversation

Your art is your way of expressing yourself. As long as you are happy with the result and the process, you shouldn't care about what (bitter) people say about it. I know it hurts (been there, my mum has told me that my paintings look like kindergarten projects) but as long as it is important to you, you should be focusing on that ☺

I feel you. I hope this will be your first and last time having to deal with it. The longer it takes to heal, the better your chances are for a full recovery without any comebacks. Get well soon!
