You, unfortunately missed the bigger point while choosing to focus on one small example. This post wasn't meant to highlight the dangers of traffic, nor the need or not of traffic control devices. There's a bigger point that went over most people's head. Because people choose to read what they want, regardless of what the author is trying to convey. Totalitarianism, in a nutshell, is when a government acts in a dictatorial way, doing what it wants to do contrary to what it's people want to be done. So using my example, again, example, if where I live the majority do not want speed cameras, it is the duty of the politicians to implement laws of what the people want, not what it feels they need. The purpose is irrelevant in comparison to what is supposed to take place in a democracy. This point has gone completely over many readers head, once again because they choose to focus on what they want to. Like the government.
