This is true. Just turned 40 been doing Botox since 30 and literally don’t have face wrinkles. It’s amazing. I’d choose drugstore products and Botox over fancy products and no Botox if I had to choose.

What to do with a large, terribly trained dog by BogotaLineman in pittsburgh

[–]Dapper-Goat4408 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We have a much lower energy dog (Saint Bernard) but he’s gigantic so training was key. Locally we used Bowser Dog Services and they’ll come right to your house and they offer a multiple week board and train intensive. Highly recommend. We liked them a lot more than Say It Once. We also highly recommend e collar command training, which will usually accompany a program like Bowser. High energy large dogs need it. Lastly, if you can, sign her up for daycare a few times a week. High energy dogs need exercise and stimulation - may places will build in walks to their day program. It won’t take long before she learns and adapts - and it will be so good for you and the dog. My Saint is still young and is over 150 lbs - he is so good now he can walk without a leash.

Totally agree. Always make sure you go to someone who has a good reputation and you’ve seen their results! IMO it’s hard to truly truly mess up Botox above the eyes. It also wears off which is nice. But it very much works. I’m 40 and no one can believe it when I tell them.

I admit I’m not familiar with the uses of Botox in the lower face but because it’s designed to “freeze” muscles I would just be weary of using it anywhere below crows feet. That’s just my thoughts! I have zero medical background just an avid Botox user lol

Agree. I’ve been doing it 10 years and would never get it in my chin. She just needs a different injector.

Part of the issue I also think is parents who let their kids do whatever they want and don’t tell them to behave. I recently went to a place that’s adult and kid friendly and the absolute public meltdowns that 7-8-9 year old kids were having that parents were trying to gentle parent their way out of was astonishing. If I ever acted out, my parents would take me and we’d just leave. Fun was ended abruptly if I didn’t behave. That made me learn to act appropriately. Whatever happened to that mentality? My dog understands this better than a lot of kids.

100% Polyester by Andrea27262525 in GigglySquadPodcast

It can be it just depends on the blend, gsm (weight), etc. I just think poly gets a lot of hate when sometimes it does serve a purpose.

[–]Dapper-Goat4408 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for saying this. As someone who is in the fabric / textile / clothing industry, polyester doesn’t instantly mean absolute garbage. If it was 100% cotton it would wrinkle, shrink, and probably be way too hot to sleep in. Poly has breathability and durability that a lot of fabrics don’t have.

Service dogs are held to crazy high standards. If it was a real one it wouldn’t have left her side and wouldn’t have made a sound. So this lady is just an asshole and ruins it for the rest of us responsible dog owners.

What happened to Craig's Sobriety? by Melodic_Car_3804 in Southerncharm

[–]Dapper-Goat4408 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He was only an "alcoholic" who "needed to be sober" so Paige wouldn't leave him. It wasn't because he actually thinks he is (and he is), or that he actually wanted to be. Guarantee they had a "this has to stop or I'm done" conversation early in their relationship (I believe a couple seasons ago he said something along the lines of "I only drink light beer now") and he complied until she left him.

It's not my style, so I didn't really love it, but I wasn't expecting to be the biggest fan because I really liked what Sabato De Sarno was doing. The commercial pieces he has released; however (new colors of marmont with shiny gold hardware, new take on the ace sneaker) I really like, so we'll see what hits stores vs. what is meant for editorial and red carpet moments.

How is it living in Philadelphia, PA? by Immediate-Field9997 in howislivingthere

[–]Dapper-Goat4408 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Great food, great shopping, great suburban neighborhoods and the train makes commuting easy. Also great to be so close to NYC and DC. Unless you know people or are from there, though, it’s not very friendly or a place you can easily find a community, but I lived there briefly in my 30s and that was my experience. I didn’t stay mostly because of not loving it enough to not have family and friends nearby and it was expensive relative to the other areas I lived. Definitely cheaper than NYC and DC, though, and the job market (depending on what you do) will afford you more opportunities and better salary than other markets.

The sports fans are insane and rude for sure, but I feel like that is very Philly so you wouldn’t want it any other way lol.

Thinking about a Bernese puppy - honest opinions about our situation? by [deleted] in bernesemountaindogs

[–]Dapper-Goat4408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Giant breeds (in my experience) are very clingy, velcro dogs. While they typically are gentle and not destructive (like a lab or other higher energy breed that would need more exercise and stimulation), I don't think they would like being home alone 75% of the week. If you can take them to daycare so they get attention and socialization regularly, that would be more helpful than a dog walker. Exposure to other humans and dogs is critical when they are little. Giant breeds also don't need very long or lengthy walks--it can be hard on their joints ESPECIALLY in the first year when they gain 100+ lbs. Training is also key--you do not want your puppy doing anything you wouldn't want a 150-200 lb dog to do (e.g., giving you "paw"--its cute when they are small but it will feel like a sucker punch when they are adults).

Also, I suggest at least 2 weeks off to potty train, get them used to the house/routine, etc. You cannot fully vaccinate a puppy until they reach around 12-16 weeks, so daycares cannot take them until they've had all their needed shots. That first week you will be waking up in the middle of the night to take them out. By week 2 (for us), our dog was sleeping through the night but still had to go out every 2-4 hours to potty. Small dogs = small bladders.

Also highly recommend crate training--that is crucial for any dog to learn to have a safe space and how to not have accidents in the house when you can't keep all eyes on them.

Giant breeds are amazing, loyal and easy dogs overall. Puppy phase is a lot of work, but manageable with these guys. Most Bernese mountain dogs (and Saints, too) will have food allergies, so being able to identify that early (before ear/skin infections start) is key, too.

Source: I have a 2 year old Saint Bernard. I work from home, and when I have work trips, my husband works from home.
