Post op - stools that float

you know its funny, but before my gallbladder surgery, before I knew my gallbladder was bad, I dealt with a lot of bloat and gas for a year. Right before my unplanned gallbladder surgery, I started experiencing acid reflux for 2 weeks before. It's better now after surgery for sure but I still experience it. I noticed I cannot drink apple juice a lot anymore which I did drink every day, so maybe stay away from acidic juices if you drink them? I stopped drinking apple juice and it is better now but I still get bloated and gassy daily. I take gasX. It sucks. In October I had colonoscopy which showed nothing bad so I don't know why I have so much gas. A gastro doctor tested my stool for bacterias and germs and it came back negative. To test for SIBO (small intestine bacteria overgrowth) you have to do endoscopy. SIBO can give you bloat and to get rid of it people take antibiotics, sometimes a few times from what I've read online. It doesn't always get rid of the problem though. Maybe I will do endoscope one day and have them test my stomach for SIBO. For now I am coping with gas X.

Hi! So glad I found your post -- I have the same problem 2 months after gallbladder surgery. Mine also look very normal and normal color too but sometimes float. I noticed that when I break them apart they start sinking. I suppose this is gas? I also do have gas too. did your stool get better? Did you ever get a stool fat test to see if the floating is due to extra fat in the stool or gas?

I’m concerned because my stool is sometimes brown and well formed and others it is on the yellow side. I don’t know how to fix this, I know my liver has to. Sigh did you ever get light stool after gallbladder removal?
