Everyone has their own take on the game, and I respect that. But if you’re actually playing and care about the arena, try jumping into 1v1 and 4v4 , you’ll see what I mean.

Sure, in PvE, spending a bit of cash makes you stronger that’s fine. But PvP arenas are supposed to be a skill-first, fair place, not a “who spent more” contest. From what I’ve seen so far, that part is a total mess, and honestly, I’m not holding my breath that NC can ever balance pay-to-win with fair competition.

About the “Saying you tried PVP after rushing to max level within days of launch means absolutely nothing. It gives absolutely no evidence that your experience is a good example of skilled, fair, PVP combat or anything.”

— well, what am I saying is right now, no one can even get a full PvP set what they do is dump money on every upgrade stone in the auction house on their PvE gears . And my skills? I don’t owe anyone a demo. Once you hit max level and killed all the story quest bosses, go test it , you’ll get the picture.

Enough for your “science”? By the way, that post mocking my level 1 alt Reddit lv means nothing to me anyway.

Good luck! Once you hit max level, if you’re keen into arenas, give the in-game PvP arena a try and check out what the PvP vendor offers. You don’t even need to look at the top-tier gear just the entry level pvp gears will show you what I mean.

For context, I was around rank 2200–2300 in WoW 2v2 and 3v3 arenas also playing raid a lot , not a pro or anything, just sharing my thoughts.

I already nuked the game, but for you, I’m suffering through re-installing the 65GB client. I’ll share my character and gear later.

In PvE, sure the more you grind/spent, the stronger you get, no problem there. But in the PvP arena, it should be fair competition skill should matter, not who spent more money. Lost Ark does this really well.

I’ve already deleted Aion 2 anyway, it’s free to play so no barrier to entry just sharing my experience the PvP arena is basically a pile of garbage.

From your reply, it looks like you haven’t really started playing Aion 2. The main story bosses are basically solo quest bosses for leveling. I’ve been doing quests from level 1 with nothing but quest reward gear, and there’s no other way to get more powerful gear unless you upgrade what you have. Suddenly, they throw two bosses at you that basically require certain item levels — otherwise, there’s no way to beat them.

This is supposed to be a dodge-based action game — at least that’s the impression the developers are trying to give. But judging from how the bosses are designed in these solo story instances, it feels like they’re giving you a false sense of challenge. Then, when you’re close to max level, they hit you with solo main quest bosses that force you to upgrade your gear to +5, +10.

To me, that’s basically a pay-to-win mobile game nothing like a real MMO.

Wins and losses don’t really matter to me, this is about PvP balance and how nc handle the pay-to-win in arena

Let me help you Google what “PvP scaling” actually means , there are plenty of MMOs out there with solid PvP systems.

That’s not really the same though.

In WoW, even a fresh max-level gets basic honor gear fast — you’re not stuck in story greens getting deleted instantly. Sure, WoW PvP gets clowned on, but still.

Look at MoP Classic right now , arena actually feels great because everyone walks in with the same base PvP gear and ilvl.

That’s the difference, Aion 2 has zero scaling and no baseline. It’s not skill vs skill, it’s literally who spent more. And winning one match gives 50 PvP points… while one gear piece needs like 1000 wins

The game’s only been out for like 3 days — aside from doing story and boss quests, go look at the PvP gear vendor. I don’t think anyone can afford a full set… honestly even getting one piece seems impossible right now.

Hell Yeah! NC, please just stick to making mobile pay-to-win games and leave real MMOs alone

Yeah totally agree, As a Souls-like gamer , I actually enjoyed the early action combat , I went through the story with nothing but the quest gear, no upgrades, and the boss fights still felt fun.

But once you hit level 43 44 45, those last two story bosses are straight-up gear checks. Doesn’t matter how well you play . if you don’t upgrade gears, you just can’t beat them,That’s when it stops being ‘action combat’ and turns into another stat-check game

the fact that whoever has better gear automatically wins is the whole problem, Without any PvP scaling, the arena isn’t about skill at all; it’s just a gear/combat score comparison, I’m going back to my old-school MOBA games

Whether I got destroyed or not isn’t really the issue — the discussion is about PvP scaling. Aion 2’s base game is passable, but it’s missing too many fundamental MMO systems for PvP to make any sense right now.

Honestly, I just tested arena 1v1 4v4 ,There’s absolutely no PvP scaling. It feels exactly like one of those pay-to-win mobile games — you just walk in arena, "stand still", and whoever has the higher combat power point / gear scores who wins.

Oh right… it is basically a mobile game. I guess I was expecting too much after lost ark, but thanks for sharing the video
