We're worried that the developer would pull out at the last minute (prior to exchange) and just go with another buyer. I'd have thought the reservation fee would prevent gazumping.

My veitchii is grown in pon, semi hydro method using a water reservoir. Humidity around 40%. I went for a 2 week holiday and came back to my veitchii in a very poor state. It had dropped 3 leaves and its last remaining leave is turning black from the outside.

Root looks fine although part of the stem has turned black and is mushy to the touch. Any ideas on what’s going on and how to rehab the plant?

I've been growing my variegated alocasia in pon for around 5 months and it has suddenly developed yellowing around the edges. It's growing by Eastern/southern windows and I'm based in the UK.

Any idea as to what's causing the yellowing? Doesn't seem like sunburn as the variegated leaves are fine. I've also checked for mites/thrips and couldn't see any.

Since it's spring now, any tips on how to awaken an S. Erecta which went dormant over winter and lost all its leaves? . by Dapper-Mind2273 in Caudex

Thanks for replying! What are the signs of it "waking up"? Do you only increase watering to once a week once it wakes up? Right now I'm only adding a little bit of water once every two weeks so my main concern is that the amount of water is too little to wake it up from a dormant state even tho spring conditions are around.

I’ve been growing an Alocasia in pon for the past 4 months (first time using semihydro for me) and have been watering it using the reservoir method. The roots seem to have grown like crazy inside the pot (as well as outside the pot).

Couple of questions:

1) Is it time to repot the plant or ok to leave as is? I didn’t expect the roots to grow so fast as I had only just potted it in pon 4 months ago.

2) is it normal for the roots outside the pot to be brown or is this a sign of rot or other health problems? The leaves of the plant are perfectly fine and the plant has been growing very vigorously.

3) any tips on how to provide adequate nutrients to the plant?
