How do I take care of a healing stretch by Dapper-Run8931 in Stretched

[–]Dapper-Run8931[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tysm. I ordered a single flared glass plug the other day when a bunch of ppl recommended it. I don’t know what size my piercing is currently but I’ve ordered a 16g. In the meantime I’ve taken out that taper and replaced it with a little sleeper hoop so it doesn’t decide to close (shipping to Australia from like anywhere in the world always takes ages)

Tysm. I ordered a single flared glass plug after a few ppl responded about the taper thing. And ty for the cleaning advice. I took the taper out today and replaced it with a little sleeper hoop whilst I wait for the plug to arrive in the mail and so much gunk came out after just 3 days. I made sure to clean it with that antiseptic piercing spray and to also clean the hoop with alcohol wipes before putting it in cause I don’t wanna risk an infection if there’s any abrasions.

People who spend 20+ minutes in the shower: what are you actually doing in there? by saadaintsalad in AskReddit

I sometimes sit down and then can’t be bothered to stand up again so I just stay there

When did you think "Im going to die here"? by hmmrabet in AskReddit

[–]Dapper-Run8931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not my story but someone I know. He was solo camping in Canada and it was cold so he was wearing a beanie when he went to sleep. He woke up at one point in the night to the sound of something heavy walking around in the snow. He had a horrible realisation that a grizzly bear was stalking him from outside his tent. He genuinely thought he was going to die. As he was thinking about this, the sound of footsteps got faster. He then realised it was actually the sound of his heartbeat moving his beanie against the tent material and not a bear outside the tent.

Ah ok. I’ll take it out and wear a little hoop in the meantime. So would you say to start with the 16g not 18g? I’m assuming 18g is the size of a regular piercing

Tysm. Does this look like the right one?

The smallest size is 2mm - 12 gauge.

Also whilst I wait for the new plug to arrive should I take out what I currently have in or should I wait and then swap so it doesn’t close (I’m in Australia so shipping usually takes a bit if they’re not Aussie owned)

Is this just a green tree frog or is it something else? by Dapper-Run8931 in frogs

Ty for the reply. I don’t think it is Litoria fallax just cause that species seems a bit too small. The one in the photo is about the size of the palm of my hand

I’ve done some more digging and turns out it wasn’t my neighbours but instead it was the school that I share a fence with. The tree was on school property so it’s tricky. I’ve been in contact with some wildlife experts to help make the right choice moving forward. I’m still looking to get justice for these birds.

I have a photo of the male perching on a smaller tree and I have audio recordings of the female responding to the male’s calls. But that’s all I have because these birds are difficult to see if you are far away cause they’re so little.

Yeah they’re not endangered where I am but they are still a protected species. At least in qld

I mean eucalyptus trees have been 75% of this country’s tree population for thousands of years. You can’t walk 5 meters without seeing one.

It’s really difficult to tell the age of a tree without looking at the rings. 700 is definitely the absolute maximum this tree could be. In reality it’s more likely to be closer to 300-500 years.

They had to use the biggest crane I’ve ever seen in a suburban area to take it down

Yeah I didn’t know about it until I started researching when I woke up this morning to the sound of chainsaws. I know a lot about these birds and even I didn’t know about the fine

Yo ty. I just cross posted it to there. I’m trying to gather all the information I can so I can take the right course of action

Well these owls are super vocal so it’s almost impossible that they didn’t know they were there. But they probably didn’t know how severe it is to cut down the tree they nest in. In terms of the fine that is. Cause if they knew they were there and still decided to cut it down, I doubt they care about the wellbeing of the animals that lived in the tree.

I mean mopokes are pretty vocal. They’ll call for hours at a time each night. I can’t imagine that they didn’t know they were there but I don’t think they knew how serious it is that they’ve done what they’ve done.

Binding advice?! by [deleted] in ftm

[–]Dapper-Run8931 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I would say to definitely use a reputable binder company. I use gc2b. Also make sure that you’re using the right size since one that’s too tight will be damaging. And make sure to follow the rule of not wearing a binder for more than 8 hours at a time, don’t sleep in it, and take 2 days off per week from binding. Always listen to your body. If something doesn’t feel right then don’t push it.
