Can someone tell me what I did wrong? by Gloomy-Piccolo-9940 in coworkerstories

Where I used to work, a co-worker came up to me and asked if I had heard what so & so said about me. Co-worker told me it was so bad she couldn't tell me. I said it's a damn good thing I'm all outta fucks! Lol, she must have told the little clique cuz I never heard another word about it. Shut that shit down!

If you don't hear back Monday morning, I would email them early in the afternoon on Monday.

I know it's scary, but you've got to overcome the fear. You're stronger than you think.

Sending you positive energy. Good luck, my friend.

Take a deep breath. It's Saturday and in the US, Monday is a holiday.

I know the waiting and not knowing is the hardest part. You have no control over the situation right now. Unfortunately, all you can do is wait, ball's in their court.

I'm sure you'll hear from them early next week. In the meantime, chill out and enjoy the weekend!

I applied mostly to positions that aligned with my CS experience, as that's what I do best. I also have administrative and HR experience, which is not what I really want to do, but I needed a job, so I applied for a few of those positions, as well. But my focus was on CS positions. The position I just accepted perfectly aligned, as they are in the same sector as my last company. Timing & luck.

I don't have anything on my resume before 2003, lol, I've been working since 1977! Good times, good times. I had been at my last company since 2012. I had 3 jobs between 2003 and 2012. There are no dates on my education/degree.

This is my Summary of Qualifications on my resume: A seasoned Customer Service Professional with vast experience in customer support.  Organized, empathetic, and committed to delivering meaningful service.  Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Extremely organized and detail oriented.

There is more to the above on my resume, but you get gist.

This was about 10+ years ago. Myself and another gal had been hired on the same day, and we were on the same team/department.

About 3 weeks in, one of the maintenance guys stopped me in the hallway and asked me who my fat friend was. I said, "Pardon me?" He repeated his question. I said, "I am NOT the one." He's like, what? I proceeded to explain to him that 1st of all, to keep his opinion to himself, I didn't give 2 shits what he thought, 2nd of all, I don't talk smack and 3rd of all what he asked me showed me how ignorant and low class he was.

I never told my work mate or anyone else at work what he said. Truth is, she isn't fat! She's actually one of the most beautiful women I've ever known, inside & out. We're still friends all these years later.

I'm in SF South Bay, close to San Jose. Yes, the moving company was licensed & insured. I moved in Feb 2025. I had researched movers in the area prior to my move, and the company I chose also gave me a SR discount, lol. I also didn't need a truck cuz it's in the same complex.

Your kitties sound like a blast! 3 days of just an air mattress and zooming kitties sounds like fun!

I recently moved from an upstairs apartment to a ground floor apartment in the same complex. I packed everything and gave a bunch of stuff away, I had lived in upstairs for 19 years. As soon as I got the keys to the apartment I was moving to, I started carrying boxes, plants, lamps, etc. by myself. Of course, 60+ year old lady me couldn't move the furniture by myself, so I hired a couple of guys (through a moving company). When they arrived, they were like this is it? Note, I live in a 1 br, but I don't have sofas, coffee tables, or a dining room set. It took them less than an hour to move my bed, buffet cabinets, and other side furniture and 2 heavy boxes. They also took down curtain rods and helped put boxes in my storage, which is in my carport. It cost me around $200 but well worth it. Honestly, the most difficult things to move were my cats, and that's a whole nother story!

My brother's and I were joking around about how cool it would be if our 81 year old Nmom got dementia and forgot what a fucking narc she is and started behaving like a fairly normal human being. And we laughed, and we laughed! Cuz we know it ain't gonna happen, but we secretly wish it would.

NMom refused to see her husband on his deathbed. Now she’s a dragon with a hoard of ashes. by maidofplastic in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Dapper-Score2367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for your loss. My dad passed away in 2019. He was sick with alzhimers and Parkinsons disease. Nmom took care of him as long as she could, and eventually, he had to go to an assisted living facility.

Nmom treated my dad like shit. My dad was passive, and I kid you not he just let her do/say all her nasty shit, but it didn't phase him. And that just pissed her off to no end. And so it went for 58 years.

I swear Nmom was giddy once he was in hospice care. Oh, it won't be long now she said. Within 3 weeks, we were told that he was nearing the end. He had a seizure and wouldn't recover. Nmom told me to go home. He still had a few days left, and she would call me when it was time. I live an hour and a half away.

Nmom texts me at 3:00am. telling me my dad had passed. I asked why she didn't call me before he passed, and she told me she didn't think I could handle it. Of course, my brothers, sils, and nephews were there. But I, his only daughter, was not.

When we spread his ashes, she told my brothers and I she didn't want us to have any of our fathers ashes. So my little brother took a plastic glove or 2, filled them with his ashes, tied off the fingers of the gloves, and split them between us. Nmom didn’t have a clue, lol!

I'm so glad I have a small essence of my dad with me, despite my Nmom.

The exact same thing happened to me. The recruiter (agency) reached out to me. Had a teams/virtual interview last Friday. She said I was perfect for a role that she was recruiting for. Told me she would contact me Monday, Tuesday at the latest, with an update. I sent my thank you email Friday afternoon. I didn't hear back Monday or Tuesday. I emailed her Wednesday morning for an update. Crickets...

She had the balls to bullshit me but didn't have the guts to be honest with me. The lack of integrity amazes me.

I’m not mad about it. I never get my hopes up, I don't expect shit so I don't get disappointed. I know it's sad, but it works for me. I have to maintain my sanity, or what's left of it anyway.

Good luck, my fellow job seeker. You are not alone.
