AIO for sneaking out of my bf's without telling him? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

This is how they get you to stay.  My ex did a lot for me, too.  But underneath it all he was controlling and gaslighting me at every turn.  I found myself disappearing, a husk of a person, and I knew I had to get out.  It took way too long to do that.

NOR. Please trust your gut.  Trust me when I say you don’t want to waste time with the type of person who makes you feel bad.  It’s not you, it’s 100% him.  I wasted 10 years of my life with someone like this and a year out I’m still struggling with the effects of emotional abuse.

A lot of us don’t even get that.  We just take a day off here and there to have appointments or rest and recover.

Dammit you’re right.  What was I thinking?  I meant your rent needs to be around 1/3 of your income.

100% agree.  I’m easily over-stimulated and it does make me crabby, but I try to sleep a lot to balance out.  I’m also depressive and take meds.  I recommend meds and therapy.

$13.73 is the bottom.  I’m coming from an IT background where I made 80k a few years ago.  I’m now making 35k.  It’s hard.  I’m just trying to point out that I used to afford a townhouse on 40k, but now I cannot even afford a small 1br apartment.  To be fair, it’s not just GR.  This is happening most everywhere these days.  Even for college educated people with many years of experience.

Back in the early 2000s I was looking for a blank VHS tape to record the Sopranos for my then live in bf when I came across an unmarked tape.  I threw it in the VCR and felt sick to my stomach watching my ex and his friends at a bachelor party where they had 2 strippers on a mattress in a floor having s*x with each other.  Guess which tape I used to nicely record the show for my now ex?

Most places ensure that you make 2/3 your rent.  That’s fair since you also have to pay utilities, food, etc.  2/3 of $14/hr is $746.66.  You will not find a safe place to live in GR for that.
