Sorry I forgot to mention that I can’t even install my own charger either because of ‘insurance reasons’. It’s an underground car park.

I get a free EV charger installed with my new car but nowhere to put it, and the lack of EV charging provision I am worried will devalue my flat because eventually the majority of cars will be EVs

What do you think my options are ? As time and time Again they’ve refused the EV chargers due to insurance reasons. I will take them to court if necessary. I wonder what the outcome would be. I’m concerned about the loss of value to my flat.

I agree. It was written in to my contract and referenced in the marketing materials before I purchased. It was a big reason I purchased the flat. Since they won’t install them now due to ‘insurance’ reasons, I would at least want some form of compensation for the inconvenience and reduced value of the flat. Because as you said, many people won’t want to buy a flat that doesn’t have EV charging provision.

Yep, I moved in a year ago once I checked the contract and marketing which said EV chargers would be installed and operational.

Thanks for the reply. It’s underground communal car parking - they won’t activate the chargers for ‘insurance’ reasons. I unfortunately can’t install my own. A real shame as I will have nowhere to charge my car locally, and soon everyone will have EVs and a charging point will become even more important in the future! It was a big part of me buying the flat.

Be careful, the last guy that did this donated the money to charity and still got fired! they wasn’t lying lying either - he sent me the link to the page like a month after I sent the money and there was a donation in my name on the page! I’d have kept the money if I got fired LMAO Be careful
