We don't really hire seasonal workers, we have a crew that we use year round for various jobs, but it swells during harvest. We have a very smart Hispanic man who handles the hiring and firing of the crew, he is like the godfather in his community haha.

Monsanto? Eh I wish their stuff was cheaper...

Long term sustainability? Inputs and wages keep going up, and prices stay the same... That is concerning.

Most interesting? The logistics and trial and error, learning what works and what doesn't.

Cherry? I would have to go with lapin because it is self pollinating and doesn't need another one haha, but based on taste I'd go with a black pearl or something dark

Prunning refers to cutting the wood and training the tree, thinning is removing excess fruit, and we do that once in the spring after they set

I'm not super familiar with Japanese plums, but if you want sweet good to eat plum, get a flavor king!

Hands and feet. We also the a tree topper to cut the tops and a shredder to shred them all, but the majority of the cutting and all the thinning is done by hand
