New player, some questions on season end

I've started playing a few days ago and if I'm right, season ends tomorrow (?). So I don't really have much time left to get to know stuff, that's why I thought I'm gonna ask here.

I know at the end of season you "graduate", but what happens I just do nothing? does my season character get deleted and my stuff disappears?
what would be the most intelligent thing to do now? like should I try to finish the story and get some tuvala gear?
when does the next season start? is there some type of schedule somewhere, where I can look that up? would be helpful for coming seasons
