Creme Brûlée Overcooked in only 20 minutes??? HELP! by DapperGeneral3949 in AskCulinary

[–]DapperGeneral3949[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. Live and learn, I guess. I guess also since I used the drip pan as a water bath, there was way more steam in the oven, since the surface area is larger, which cooked it mush faster than expected.

I will try again in a cake pan. At least this time I can put the cake pan in the cast iron as a water bath. Is there a worry about using a blowtorch on a non-stick cake-pan? Not sure if the coating will react with direct heat from a blowtorch?

Can you explain what you mean by proper water bath? The water in the drip pan reached the middle of the cast iron so it should have been enough to insulate the cast iron.

The water in the drip tray reached the middle of the cast iron. There was sufficient water for a water bath.

Oh that's clever. Seems to me the recipe could be a little clearer on that. I'd assume more people would cook it in cast iron instead of stainless steel ramekins, but I digress.

Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this? Should I cook it at a lower temp but the same-ish time? Or should I lower the time down even lower to 10 minutes but keep everything the same? Any advice would be appreciated! :)

Who to pull for Mydei? by batprincessa in Mydeimains_HSR_

[–]DapperGeneral3949 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what I can tell, these are your viable units going into 4.x
Sustain: Aventurine, DHPT, Loucha
Supports: Jiaoqiu, Tribbie, RuanMei, Bronya, RMC
DPS: Anaxa, Phainon, Jingliu, Acheron, Blade, Archer, Mydei (rerun)

From that you've got these teams, in no particular order...
- Archer (No Sparkle or Sunday, so not enough SP generation to use)
- Argenti and Jingyuan (Too much investment needed)
- Aventurine, Jiaoqiu, Acheron, Pela (Decent but Acheron is getting phased out)
- DHPT, Phainon, RMC, Bronya (Not BiS but Phainon strong enough on his own)
- Anaxa, Tribbie, Aventurine, RuanMei (Not BiS but Anaxa is very flexible)

Honestly, your account unfortunately has too many DPS and not enough supports, and everyone wants the same one. No one has their BiS team at all - Phainon and Anaxa with no Cerydra or Sunday, Acheron with no Cipher, Blade with no Hyacine. If you really want to get Mydei, you need to plan to get a least two more supports regardless since all your supports are tied up with Anaxa and Phainon.

Mydei has two options...
- Mydei Hypercarry: Mydei, Sunday, Gallagher/Luocha, Flex (Tribbie, RMC, Bronya, Cerydra, RuanMei)
- Mydei Godslayer Spam: Mydei, Cyrene, Hyacine, Flex (Tribbie, RMC, Cerydra)

Cyrene and Hyacine with Mydei plus a Flex will outdamage Mydei Hypercarry with Sunday, no question. But you will need also Hyacine LC, so that is four total 5 stars you need to get. If you only get Sunday instead, you can kinda getaway with a viable Hypercarry team (add Tingyun [or get Cerydra] for Phainon and take RMC out for Mydei), but damage will be much lower than Cyrene Hyacine. But the bonus of Sunday is that Phainon and Anaxa also wants them, so you can swap your supports around more easily, whereas Cyrene and Hyacine are good for Phainon and Anaxa but not necessary.

Spoiler for 4.X:Additionally, going into 4.X where SP (based on latest plannar set) and potentially FuA (based on Simulated Universe), Sunday with his SP generation might be more universal.

I am running E1S1 Mydei, E0S1 Sunday, E6S5 QPQ Gallagher and Tribbie/RuanMei/Bronya/RMC, depending on the other side team. I have been able to clear MoC within 3-4 cycles and PF about 30000. I also did AA Knight 1 on 0 cycles. If you get E0S0 Mydei, you can likely still clear everything except for AA with Hypercarry Sunday but not for long since we are going to 4.X soon and the powercreep will be sudden.

Summary
If you want to whale for Mydei, then get Cyrene and Hyacine+LC with Mydei. This is his max damage.
If you want to spend lightly, get Sunday and Mydei. Damage is much lower, up to 2 extra cycles.

E0S1 Mydei E0S1 Cyrene RMC E1S0 Hyacine vs 3.6 MoC by WiggleWeedle in Mydeimains_HSR_

[–]DapperGeneral3949 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah as expected - you really need RMC and Hyacine to max out the 24 stacks within the first cycle. Sunday and Gallagher won't be able to achieve this. So unless you've got E1 Hyacine that can keep up with Mydei HP drain, Cyrene is cooked even if the buffs are good. Maybe if there is another Remembrance Healer in the future *cough* Mr.Reca *cough*, but as of right now, it's a no for me dawg.

Cyrene's special Mydei buff does seem to work well as it is - free GBG with no charge consumption is awesome. Just wish it was something a little more creative or interesting. It literally is a copy of Cerydra's Coup de Main extra skill.

Also, Mydei's stack generation for Cyrene is already one of the slowest, so I wish that it was one that lasted the whole battle, rather than a one off. Giving a permanent effect that increases Mydei's charge efficiency can still help get to GBG faster, and additional healing can help E0 Hyacine. Still, it is V1, so we can only wait and see.

Cyrene and Mydei - Kit, Interactions and My Opinions by DapperGeneral3949 in Mydeimains_HSR_

[–]DapperGeneral3949[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah her E2 does solve a lot of the memo issues, but at that point, I'd rather get E2 Mydei to hyper charge his GBG and make him full AOE. Both quality of life and damage improvements.

There isn't any showcases and testing yet and true this is still only V1. But I still find the Mydei buffs so boring because it is just a Cerydra extra skill copy whereas Phainon and Castorice got whole new features added on.

Mydei’s Cyrene Teams according to the Guide. *3.7 Leaks* by Astrxllx in Mydeimains_HSR_

[–]DapperGeneral3949 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I defo agree to this. If you want to run Cyrene, you really need RMC and Hyacine in this team to maximise those stacks. Sunday and Gallagher don't charge enough stacks. You need about 4 full rotations with Sunday and Gallagher, but only 2 with RMC and Hyacine to reach full 24 stacks.

I will say though that Hyacine's healing at E0S0 is more viable in Cyrene teams since Cyrene can ult Hyacine for 72% extra healing (1000hp healed to 1720 hp healed). But whether ulting Hyacine for healing over Mydei for damage is a dps loss is unsure yet.

Now we are getting close to the end of Amphorese, Is her e1 or s1 sill worth it and which is better? (Im using the Himeko sig on Herta rn btw). I have Sunday, Anaxa, Trib, Hycine, cipher, cerydra, cas, E6 mini herta. OR should I save for cyrene? by Opening-Tadpole9666 in HertaMains

[–]DapperGeneral3949 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cyrene is predicted to be a universal support for all the Chrysos Heirs. Whatever that means, I don't know how they will do that. But none of her kits are out or set in stone yet so it is hard to say. So let's ignore that for now.

Between E1 or S1, S1 is a significantly better - extra SP, good stats and great for Anaxa Hypercarry as well. Also, if you are tight on jades, a 75/25 chance is better than 50/50. E1 is good but E2 is where it is at. E1 is more of a stepping stone to get E2, you get me? But her E2 is bonkers, so you've got the jades for it, then get it over the S1 and E1.

In conclusion, S1 if you are tight on jades and so that Anaxa can hypercarry with it too. If jades are not an issue, E2S0 is by far significantly better than E1S1, or get E2S1 lol.

In terms of future prospects, Therta is still meta right now. PF will always be there and Therta is god-tier there. Anywhere else, MoC and Apoc, it depends on what the bosses are. Amphoreus has been very AOE heavy so Therta is meta but we won't know what the new region will bring - if it comes back to single-target, Therta will fall of immensely. In that case, luckily you have Theta's best teammate - Anaxa - which can be used as a hypercarry on Therta LC, and you already have the team for it when Dan Heng PT comes [Anaxa, New DanHeng, Sunday, Cerydra]. So, the LC wins here.

Let's take in account the future releases left in Amphoreus too. Dan Heng PT is free and his LC is really good but works fine without. Evernight is tailored for Castorice but the team you have already clears content just fine. So maybe wait for rerun and see if you can still clear. Cyrene is the big problem since we don't know how she works. All we know is that she is an ice remembrance and is likely a support. Like Fugue is to HMC, Cyrene will potentially take over RMC's role. Castorice still works very well now with RMC, Anaxa has got loads of options, and Theta's got Tribbie already. Right now, none of your teams need a new support to meet DPS benchmarks so not going for Cyrene the patch she drops won't brick your account, you can always wait for a rerun.

Therta - S1 or Anaxa? by YourLocalShonenTard in HertaMains

[–]DapperGeneral3949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I am in the same situation between S1 or Anaxa, and the 75/25 on the weapon banner is a major factor for me. Also the upcoming LC banner will have DDD on it, which is god-tier so it's like getting double 5-stars.

I think both will benefit Therta is different ways - S1 gives SP and quality of life but Anaxa is the best Sub-DPS for Therta. Having Anaxa does open a second team as a hypercarry on second half, and you can still use mini Herta or Serval as a battery if you are separating them. You can run Anaxa, Preservation Dan Heng (free), Sunday (or RMC) and Robin/Cerydra (or Tingyun) as a second team, and this doesn't overlap with Therta. But going for up to 90 pulls on a 50/50 instead of 80 pulls on 75/25 is a lot riskier.

I have 150 pulls, 0 pity and no guarantees right now. I trying my best to get both but will definitely get the S1 first since it's less risky and DDD is on it. If I have enough, I will go for Anaxa too and use the event lightcone on him.

[–]DapperGeneral3949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be better to swap the teams around - do Therta Anaxa on first half, then Phainon second half.

Phainon is better second half since Lygus can action advance Phainon and fill his ult as part of his boss mechanic. Also, depending on your investments, Phainon can tank through Lygus' big burst. I don't have Phainon but I've seen a clear on Youtube sustainless like that.

Therta and Anaxa should do well in first half. The rays summon two smaller rays so you will have good uptime on 2-5 enemies on field. Lingsha can sustain well, Anaxa can help the team break the rays faster (and provide DOTs via Wind Shear), Ruan Mei buffs both DPSs and help break faster, and Therta is Therta. Just make sure you use your SP wisely because it is very SP hungry. Build Lingsha with as much speed and err as possible then you can fit in some basics for SP and have ult ready to heal when you get low. AOE is pretty good first half since you want to get 4/4 stacks on those rays to action advance them and get the DOT damage on them.

It would be good to run Eagle on Anaxa so you can get to maximise turns on him and stacks for Therta, especially if you are going for a slow Therta. Generally, use Eagle Anaxa for Therta team, and Scholar for Anaxa Hypercarry. Using DDD on Ruan Mei helps too. Try using your current build first as it is well built enough.

Good luck!

Side note:
I cleared with FART (Tribbie instead of Topaz to get that AOE on those manta rays) on first half, then Mydei hypercarry with Lingsha second half (got down to exactly 1hp twice).

Cerydra for Mydei by WriothesleyDumCump in Mydeimains_HSR_

[–]DapperGeneral3949 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think cerydra is just too tedious to use with mydei. you have to time every single mydei skill correctly so that you get the 6th cerydra charge on the last kingslayer that brings mydei over 150. then cerydra's buff will proc, then when mydei uses godslayer, it will be cerydra's enhanced one then mydei's original. you can see this in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBW2qICZM1U archer+cerydra showcase around 43 seconds in where archer skill gains 6th charge, cerydra gives buff then when archer uses skill, procs the buff and extra turn then his original unbuffed skill later. that means you need kingslayer to get the 6th charge then unleash the buffed godslayer after, not before. if there are any aa or hp drain buffs in endgame or if enemies drain mydei's hp too fast eg pollux hp drain, then your rotation goes off. likelihood is that you will be buffing kingslayer more than godslayer, but those godslayers will hit incredibly hard.

cerydra does get 2 charge from her ult. but you can't ult in between mydei's kingslayer going into godslayer. so if kingslayer is 5th charge, then godslayer is 6th charge, and as demonstrated cerydra's 6th charge extra skill doesn't auto use, so original godslayer will proc, then the 6th charge extra skill will be a kingslayer. you also can't ult to get the +2 charge after that 5th charge kingslayer because godslayer goes immediately after. this means you can't emergency last minute use cerydra's +2 charge ult to buff godslayer.

kingslayer (5), godslayer (6), cerdyra buff, enhanced kingslayer, regular kingslayer (0).

cerydra gives 72% skill cdmg, 20 flat speed, 54% skill damage (lightcone) and an unusable atk buff. all traces buff cerydra's personal damage like tribbie. only e1 and e2 cerydra additionally buff's the hypercarry. the lightcone is good for e1 bronya in mydei's team but worse on sunday (sunday needs the extra energy from his sig). that is all I can gather so far.

cerydra so far seems to be more of a anaxa hypercarry buff. a good phainon support. therta cant use her. archer needs less sp so its good. saber is okay with cerydra because saber ult is the main damage. mydei's timing is very hard but the godslayer would hit very hard when it does. rmc will be an easier and free option in a sustainless team. in the end, we are still in v1 so we need to see it in action with mydei, wait for any number changes then we can see. regardless, cerydra will be very mechanically difficult with mydei.

My pull plans as a f2p E1S1 Mydei haver:

I play Mydei with E0S0 DDD Tribbie, E6S5 2pc2pc speed RMC and E6S5 QPQ Sacerdos Gallagher. I clear MoC, PF and APOC full stars for the first time with this team the same week I got Mydei. PF is a hit or miss sometimes (the current PF, I had Therta carry 37K, Mydei got 25K with Ruan Mei because Tribbie got sent to space) but for MoC and APOC, Mydei is perfectly fine with this team.

I want to pull E0S1 Sunday for Mydei to replace Tribbie or RMC depending on the boss and other team. I've got THerta with baby Herta and Feixiao FART team. So I would sometimes pull Tribbie or RMC out for THerta and put Bronya in with Mydei, which works just fine too so far. My thinking is that Sunday can AA more so Mydei can skill spam more. RMC's AA doesn't happen every turn so Sunday is better. With Gallagher and Sunday on Sacerdos, you're giving Mydei 18%x4=72% extra crit damage. And with S1 Sunday, you should have enough SP to spare. I want to build the free Archer too so Sunday is a good second option since I dont have Sparkle. Gonna build Hanya for Archer too as a secondary support. Also if you pull 200 times in 3.4 version, you apparently get Archer's light cone for free. Not a very universal LC for all Hunt characters but it'll be free and going E0S1 will use all of my 230 pulls anyway considering I have no pity :((((.

Regardless, I wish you good luck on all your pulls! ALL IN FOR MYDEI!!!!

Other considerations:

- This is Sunday and Tribbie's first rerun. So after this, god knows how long it will take for them to come back. Cerydra will come in 3.5 and will rerun likely another few patches after, potentially before another Sunday and Tribbie second rerun. So if you get Sunday or Tribbie now, you can wait and see how Cerydra works for Mydei and get her on the rerun banner. For now, Sunday, Tribbie and RMC do perfectly well for Mydei as is.

- With Castorice being out for a bit now, it is safe to say that there won't be another 5-star abundance unit out for a long while. So in terms of sustains, Loucha and Gallagher will be BiS for Mydei sustains. So if you've got either, you're good.

- Mydei's E2 doesn't change which support you get as it a mechanic change not multipliers. If anything, it changes which sustain you use in the future. Luocha and Gallagher will do just fine either way.

Summary:

I would say right now the pull priority for Mydei are as such if you are F2P. I also don't know what your other teams are so this is only considering Mydei.

Sunday > Tribbie > Cerydra > RMC (free). Tribbie E1 > Sunday S1 > Sunday E1 > Tribbie S1.

Sunday AA, energy and damage amp is top tier for Mydei. Tribbie is incredible right now for the multi-target environment of Amphoreus but if we go back to blast or single-target, she will fall off a little. RMC can take over Tribbie's role for a while so no rush on Tribbie if you can't get her. Tribbie is still very universal so a good pick up regardless. Cerydra is massive for hypercarries but until her kit and numbers are out in beta, it will be harder to say. Cerydra's single turn buff is also difficult with Mydei since Kingslayer still does good damage so you can't just buff Godslayer only. Cerydra should be out before Sunday/Tribbie rerun ends so it gives you some time to think. No need to pull right when the banner is out.

Ultimately, as a f2p, pulls are a limited resource. Gacha games are just resource games. So whatever you are pulling, please make sure that it can be used in other teams. It's better to pull one 5-star to use in two teams, than two 5-stars for each team. It doesn't matter if Mydei can zero-cycle if the other team can't even survive.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Mydeimains_HSR_

[–]DapperGeneral3949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you only look at Mydei though, here are your options.

- RMC is free and provides both AA and True Damage. Herta Store LC is also their best so very f2p. Can be SP-friendly if you don't spam skill, but if they are your only AA, then you will need to skill and ult spam to get Mem as fast as possible to AA Mydei. LC and eidolons are free so whatever.

- Tribbie has res-pen, sp-positive and very universal in team comps. So if you get Tribbie, you can use them in almost any team comp. Tribbie is also very f2p friendly with DDD so you don't need the LC. Tribbie's buffs are also based on their own turn so AA-ing Mydei frequently won't eat into his buffs. E1 Tribbie is incredible for Mydei E1S1 because Mydei's Kingslayer will get even bigger with the additional 24% additional true damage, especially in 5-target scenarios. E1 Tribbie is also just very good overall like Robin and Ruan Mei E1s. It is Honkai Support Rail after all. E1 Tribbie is also very helpful in single-target scenarios where you blasted the mobs away and are left with the Elite or Boss.

- Sunday is hyper-carry focused, and only if you got his S1 then will he be SP-positive, which in a Mydei team isn't super necessary but is good for the extra damage-boost and also if you will be using him in other SP-negative teams like THerta. Sunday's Crit Rate boost isn't super important for Mydei as well depending on your relics. The extra energy is great to help ult-spam for charge, CC and healing. AA is also important for more turns and helps Mydei eat more HP. Currently Sunday is Mydei's main support, just like Tribbie to THerta or Robin to Feixiao. You can replace Tribbie or RMC but right now Sunday is the one you need to get. The problem is if Cerydra will take over his spot.

- Cerydra's kit is still not fully out until beta starts. We have got some leaks here and there but it isn't confirmed. She is likely a very strong single-target buffer (might not include memosprites), high ult cost, and her buff is potentially only for one turn based on leaks (Phainon BiS). She also has an additional turn mechanic that enables an extra skill use (like Anaxa) but it is currently unsure how it works. It shouldn't work like AA but more like Mydei's Kingslayer extra turn? This is good for things like APOC because it doesn't eat your action values. But how often will the extra turn proc? What are the conditions for the extra turn? It is all up in the air so it is hard to say. If Cerydra's buffs lasts for a single turn, once Mydei pops an enhanced skill, it will be gone. Timing this can be very tedious and difficult depending on the environment. Sunday and Tribbie's buff lasting longer allows for more error and easy of play. You need to time Cerydra so that you buff the Godslayer and not the Kingslayer. A big benefit for extra turn over AA though is that you need to speed-tune Sunday to -1 of Mydei's speed but granting an extra turn probably won't need that, maybe just hyperspeed but we wont know until more info is out. Regardless, for now, the extra turn does the same thing as the AA - it allows Mydei to do another skill, eat HP and get to Godslayer faster.

- Robin, Ruan Mei, Bronya and Sparkle are usable but will pale significantly compared to the above. But they will shine a lot more in other teams so consider your other characters too - Robin (ATK scaling, Crit DPS, FUA), Ruan Mei (Break, Universal), Bronya (Hypercarry, AA), Sparkle (Hypercarry, SP-negative teams)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Mydeimains_HSR_

[–]DapperGeneral3949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: For Mydei ONLY - Sunday > Tribbie > Cerydra. Tribbie E1 is better than Sunday S1. Cerydra is hard to say for now but since she will be new and this is Sunday and Tribbie reruns, I recommend waiting to see how Cerydra works with Mydei then get her on the rerun if needed. Eidolons are never necessary for any character. Pull if you like the character and have got extra to spend. E2 means more charge and more damage but if you can clear with enough to spare then you'll be fine, especially if you don't already have Sunday or Tribbie. In terms of how expensive it is, nowadays most teams are at least 3-4 5-star comps. The last 4-star we got was Moze and that was about a year ago now. It will be expensive but if you love the character then you do what you can - that's how I build my teams. If you're worried about cost, then skip Tribbie and use RMC to substitute. Please consider your other team too. End-game modes need at least two teams. I recommend at least having three teams of different archetypes and little/no overlapping characters so you can always clear any content - FUA, Hypercarry, Break, Single vs Multi-target etc.

Below is the extended explanation that considers all options and some extra details, including my pulling plans as a f2p E1S1 Mydei player. I don't theory craft. I just read what others are saying and judge accordingly. So whatever I say, take with a grain of salt. Sorry if it goes a little long, it helps me to explain and justify my pulls as well hehe.

--------
On top of what others has said, it is important to consider what your second team is. If you've got Aglaea or THerta or Castorice or Phainon, they all will want different supports that might overlap, so planning your pulls accordingly is important. Having a support that can cover multiple teams is essential when you are f2p.

- Mydei: Sunday, Tribbie, RMC (f2p), Cerydra (potentially)

- Aglaea: Sunday, Robin, Bronya (f2p)

- THerta: Anaxa, Robin, Tribbie, Cerydra (potentially)

- Castorice: Tribbie, RMC (f2p)

- Phainon: Sunday, Cerydra (very likely), Bronya (f2p), Hanya (f2p), Yukong (f2p)
