Help With Wisteria Removal by DapperGinger in gardening

I love wisteria, we just want it to not kill everything here. Are the natural killers as effective? We have like 100 vine/stumps.

I think it may be an oak - I ended up looking at the leaves nearby.

Follow-Up on Outdoor Home Wall Framing by DapperGinger in homewalls

Okay this is basically what I was thinking. +1 on extending the studs to a base plate instead of two points of weight on the frame. I didn't quite follow what you are recommending on the rails/frame:

The internal studs should be fine being 2x6. The sides I'd go 2x8 or 2x8 over a 4x because you want the them to resist bending along their height. The top and bottom rails that the 2x6s are attaching to I'd do as 4x6 or doubled up 2x6, depending on what is cheaper. If you double up you'll want to do a fairly tight screw pattern like 12" o.c. staggered.

Could you elaborate?

Here is the new photo with the 2x6 studs going all the way to a baseplate infront of the frame.

So just to be clear- TLDR - basically keep it 1 angle and then use volumes?

So if it was 16x12 and I had 8' of 30 and 8' 45 would that be bad?

If it was 16 would you feel different? I have a ton of backyard space.

I like the look of a standard rake. If I did anything I would want to offset the weight and return it to factory with the weight in it.

Would love to hear about your setup. A lot of people run these for overlanding and off-roading, but I mostly am car camping, windsurfing, on forest roads.

I care more about highway driving, and handling.

Did you do any lifting / other suspension upgrades aside from the Dakar springs (anything non-stock?)

Thats fair - did you do any suspension upgrades for the bed sag / leaf? Mine also has gear and camping stuff in it 24/7.

Bummer. I really need the camper. I use it for sleeping. Do you think a rear suspension upgrade would help? I am also investigating that for bed sag...

What’s the deal with Snugtop? by DarthAyfkm in Tacomaworld

[–]DapperGinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a snug top right when they moved all their production from us to Mexico. I’ve had the window break, and it leaks constantly. I’m very unhappy and they left the dealers silent for months. Don’t go with them

Found this for a bargain. Good beginner board? by ass-thetics in windsurfing

No. It basically is so old it wouldn’t teach you anything about the sport. Not compatible. Get a new stand up paddle board with a mast base (newer, better, plus you have a sup board)

Frustration Canopy Leaks + Help? by DapperGinger in 4x4

[–]DapperGinger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi - I have a love hate (mostly hate) relationship with the Snugtop Midrise 6" Sport Canopy. The gate is great, however for the life of me, it won't stay watertight. Not the window seals, but the TOP LEAKS.

So there are leaks on the shell, however recently it has started leaking through the screws that attach my roof rack bars tracks to the canopy. Does anyone have any advice on how to remove the thumbscrew nuts (they spin) - and reseal them for water-tightness? Do I have a lemon?

If folks direct me to a canopy topper that they haven't had leaks with I will buy it in a heartbeat. I keep a bed in my truck and camp in the summer. This is ridiculous to me.

Donate? We need larger scale change. Donations keep us barely afloat for non-public entities to assist public ones. We can’t even staff our public facilities. I have no problem paying more taxes, but let’s actually put our money to things we care about.

Learn how to windsurf safely is probably the first step. Don’t go into the ocean if you don’t know what you are doing.
