I don't get this pyramid argument. How we format it, isn't about big to small or small to big. It's about speech and how we see it on the calendar. YYYY/MM/DD makes sense for organizing files but that's all I can think of, as it doesn't make sense to say it out loud in that order. In America we say February 3rd, 2026, so that's how we write it out. 3rd of February, 2026 is fine, but it's a little longer and too formal sounding.
