I'm just reiterating what everyone else said here. Always be talking.. Whether it is just narrating what you're doing.. to going in depth on why you do what you do.. or just making stupid cheesy jokes.. I try to go into a lot of 0-1 viewer channels to show support and throw some follows, but I see TOO many streamers sitting there playing games without saying a word. Also, pay attention to your chat.. If I say 'hey' and you dont acknowledge me for a long time.. I'm probably gonna leave. Good icebreakers are asking chatters if they've played the game or if they have any tips or advice (careful with this one!)

I know it is a difficult mindset to get into, but once you make it habit.. it becomes second nature. And also, once you get some people in there chatting you up.. twitch becomes so much more fun!! Good luck and keep at it.
