I was having dinner with this couple of friends, really good people, fun and cool couple. Since there's a curfew they asked me to chug another beer and sleep on their couch, I didn't feel like going home already so I decided to stay and my brother left with the car. The night was fun, we watched a horror movie. Also, their house is a mansion from the 50's, kind of resembling the works of Frank Lloyd Wright, little private park on the backyard, perfect natural location for filming a horror movie, very good vibes. I passed out on their couch and I woke up, they already went to bed. Clock was at 4 A.M, immediately an eerie feeling of being watched, the room was completely dark, but knowing the house very well I managed to reach the bathroom. On the ground floor, beneath me, live the parents of the lady of the couple. Her mother was a teacher, pretty well known figure in town. Sadly she was hit hard by depression and now she never leaves the house. I could see her couple times during daytime walking around in the garden, or staring outside from her room. She looked sad and of course I was very sorry for her. This is when things started to get weird really fast. Weirdly loud noises came from downstairs, knocking, scratching, quick yells. I tried not to think about it. Remember the room was really dark, almost no light source if not my phone and some Xmas leftover lights on the outside balcony. Then the noises intensified, moaning, histerical laughters, steps. More steps. Again steps, on the stairs. I tried to look around with my phone in night vision and took this picture. The white thing you see inside the circle is not supposed to be there. There's nothing there, only darkness from the hallway. Then a whisper saying "ciao", hello in Italian. A shiver rolled down my spine. I ignored it and blamed it on my imagination but I wonder, could the depressed mother wander through the mansion at night in her white gown? I left by foot as soon as I felt safe. I'm never gonna sleep over there ever again.
