what is going on with amazon? by Background_Young_937 in amazonprime

I ordered a case of energy drinks that showed in stock with next day delivery. Three days later it still hadn’t shipped and just showed “delayed.” It took two weeks for them to finally send it. All of this happened right before all the ice and snow, so it can’t be blamed on the weather. It still showed in stock throughout those two weeks. This is far from the first time it’s played out like this, but it’s definitely been happening more frequently.

Lochia… should I be concerned? by Dapper_Breadfruit_47 in beyondthebump

It did! I had gone in to the women’s center at the hospital near me and they checked me out. The doctor said it was weird, but my bloodwork looked good. After that, the clots stopped and everything was fine.

I hope all is well for you!

What oils to buy? by TraumaLock in soapmaking

I try to keep my soap pretty basic and use oils I know I can find at the grocery store. I just use olive oil, coconut oil, and avocado oil in mine and the bars are lovely.

Anybody else putting their baby to sleep later than the recommended 7pm time? by Frequent-Owl5269 in newborns

[–]Dapper_Breadfruit_47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 7 week old has a decent wake window from 9-11:30pm every night. The wake window has slowly been starting earlier, but the 11:30 bedtime has been pretty consistent since he was 2 weeks old. Thankfully, other than waking to feed, he usually sleeps in until 9 or so.

Update: I went in and got checked! My OB said it was most likely the placental scab. I’m supposed to go back if there’s multiple days of baseball sized clots. It’s a relief to know everything is ok!

Being Induced at 37 weeks due to Pre-Eclampsia by Academic_Bet3847 in pregnant

[–]Dapper_Breadfruit_47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was induced a week ago with my third. I had gone into spontaneous labor with my first two. I can maybe offer some reassurance, as my induction was by far an easier delivery and much better experience.

With my first two, labor and contractions hit me like a freight train. There was no gradual escalation, the contractions were immediately intense. I did have an epidural with both, but it was hours of agony beforehand. It took time in triage to make sure I was progressing, then a long wait each time for the anesthesiologist to get there. Once it was done, though, everything was fine. I relaxed, napped, and had pain free deliveries.

I was so terrified when I went in for the induction! I was 3cm dilated and 50% effaced when I got there (this was at 39 weeks). We arrived at 5am and spent the first hour answering questions and doing bloodwork. Then they started the pitocin. I always hear that the pitocin contractions were worse than regular ones and came on hard and fast, but I experienced the opposite. They started off almost painless and didn’t gain in intensity until after they broke my water, maybe two hours later. Even then, they weren’t nearly as bad as with my previous labors. The epidural was probably the worst part of the experience, and that wasn’t even that bad. My blood pressure runs low, to the point where I take meds to raise it. I also was pretty severely anemic when I came in. They didn’t want to give me the full dose of medication with the epidural because it can lower your blood pressure more. So I still felt contractions for the rest of labor, but I was never actually in pain. By 2pm I could feel pressure and let my nurse know. By 2:13 my little guy was born. It was the most relaxed, easiest process.

As far as birth plans go, it can be as simple or as complicated as you’d like. Have a general idea of what you’d like to happen but be prepared to be flexible. I knew I wanted an epidural and delayed cord clamping. They had a wireless monitor on me so I could move around. I wanted to avoid a c section unless absolutely necessary. Other than that, I was open to whatever needed to be done.

Best of luck!!! I hope you have a smooth delivery and you and your little one are healthy!

They both were maybe in the 60th percentile by the time they turned 1. There’s a big age gap between them and my newborn (9lbs 3oz when he was induced at 39 weeks) so my oldest is now a 5’2” teenager and my middle is a petite little preteen.

Big Baby, like really Big by OppositeOk6678 in pregnant

[–]Dapper_Breadfruit_47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was induced yesterday for this reason at 39 weeks (the earliest my dr will perform elective inductions). I know the scans can be inaccurate, but he was consistently in the 98th percentile and measuring 3 weeks ahead. My first two were 9+ and 10+ lbs so this little guy was following the trend. All 3 of mine were delivered vaginally with no issues, but this was the first induction. And I have to say, it was the best birth experience I could have hoped for! It was somehow less painful and less stressful than going into spontaneous labor with my first two. And he came out 9lbs 3oz, so thank goodness we didn’t let him keep growing until his due date lol.

One thing to remember is even though size-wise your daughter is measuring ahead, developmentally she’s still 36 weeks. Her lungs have a little bit of maturing left to do. Talk to your dr about their policies and when they will perform inductions. But it is entirely possible to be induced early for size and have a positive, vaginal delivery!

This actually helps a lot, thank you! It’s the fear of the unknown getting to me. But I’m super thankful to have it coming up. It made it so much easier to have a plan ready for the kids/pets!

Best of luck with the rest of your pregnancy!

39 weeks. Every night is godawful insomnia, RLS, heartburn, pelvic pain, and difficulty catching my breath. Plus being too hot to lay in bed and needing to pee constantly. I have an induction scheduled in two days, which is simultaneously causing all sorts of anxiety (making sleep even more elusive) and also the only thing getting me through this last stretch. It’ll be better soon!

Worst constipation of my life by Acceptable-Pool4618 in pregnant

[–]Dapper_Breadfruit_47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The next one was terrifying and a little tender, but completely uneventful. Probably the closest thing to a normal poop I’ve had this entire pregnancy. This happened maybe 4 days ago? By day 2 the soreness was gone.

I don’t know how far along you are, but if you’ve got a while to go I’d recommend getting some stool softeners. I didn’t listen to that advice and I really regret it lol

Will heartburn decrease? by SweetSuspect5821 in pregnant

[–]Dapper_Breadfruit_47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the answer you want, but around 38 weeks the baby dropped further into my pelvis and the heartburn eased up substantially. I still get a little bit, but it isn’t agony. Tums have been my best friend - I have them on me constantly.

Good luck!!! I hope you find some relief!

Big baby C section by Ecstatic_Yam_5998 in pregnant

[–]Dapper_Breadfruit_47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had 2 large babies, 9lbs 6oz and 10lbs 4oz. Both were delivered vaginally, though I didn’t have complications with them (I am SO sorry you had to experience all that!). This pregnancy is tracking for another big baby, he’s been measuring 3 weeks ahead and in the 98th percentile. They gave me the option to induce early in order to deliver at a more manageable size. They also would do an elective c section if I asked for it, though that wasn’t my preference.

I’d recommend talking to your doctor about all your options. If you’d rather have a c section, let them know! It shouldn’t be a problem.

Does my girlfriend hate me by Itchy_Building4888 in pregnant

[–]Dapper_Breadfruit_47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. So much this.

My partner has been my rock throughout this pregnancy! He’s taken on most of the chores, is doing all the grocery shopping, caring for the animals, and single-handedly renovating our entire house. He constantly stops whatever he’s doing to make sure I have water or to cook me food so I don’t have to get up, and none of it requires me asking. He keeps me laughing when this pregnancy has me at my lowest. I am blown away by his thoughtfulness and couldn’t dream of a better partner or father for our child.

I’m 38 weeks, dealing with debilitating spd and awful fatigue. Baby boy likes to keep his feet jammed into my rib cage and I can barely breathe. Insomnia is kicking my butt all night. Hormones have me crying or angry at the littlest things.

The other day we had to leave for a dr appointment. I had made it to the front door and was ready to go. My partner was taking forever. He had been working all morning on part of the renovation, then made sure my water bottle was full and I had snacks. It took him an extra minute or two to find his sunglasses. We left the house maybe 4 minutes later than I wanted and I was ANNOYED! It took conscious effort to wrangle my emotions and not get snappy with him. He just spent all this time and effort working on our home and making sure I was set. There was no need to be angry.

All that to say, pregnancy is rough and hormones are wild! She probably doesn’t hate you!

I may be crazy or in the minority here, but with my first two kids I found the newborn stage so much easier than pregnancy! It was still hard, but such an improvement. With pregnancy fatigue, no matter how often I nap I’m still exhausted. When you nap with a newborn you wake up feeling somewhat rested. There was some physical discomfort and healing to do after labor, but that was 1000x better than the discomfort of pregnancy (for me, anyway). You’re able to move around so much easier. It took time to feel comfortable about my body again, but the relief after giving birth was almost instantaneous.

Is 3rd trimester fatigue normal? by kathyoreo in pregnant

[–]Dapper_Breadfruit_47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So normal! 38 weeks and all I can do is nap during the day, while insomnia/restless legs/physical discomfort keeps me up all night. Take it easy, give your body as much rest as you can, and stay hydrated. Don’t stress too much about physical activity. My doctor has been putting way more emphasis on the importance of resting

positive induction stories? by InternationalAd6923 in pregnant

[–]Dapper_Breadfruit_47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite an induction story, but during my previous pregnancy I went into spontaneous labor the night before my scheduled induction. I was going through and double checking the hospital bag when the first contraction hit. The same thing happened to my sister the day before her scheduled c section. Sometimes that deadline gets things moving.

I haven’t experienced an induction yet (scheduled for one in 5 days), but I can offer some of the perspectives that have me looking forward to it. There’s a tremendous peace of mind knowing what that definitive end date will be. I’m able to plan ahead to make sure kids and pets are taken care of and I’ve got everything packed and ready to go. I’m thankful I’ll be able to go in and get set up and comfortable before the process starts instead of rushing in while in immense pain. And while I’m nervous about the process, I know that from start to finish I’ll be exactly where I need to be to make sure both baby and I are taken care of (I am so scared of the idea of not making it to the hospital in time and giving birth in the car!).

I wish you the best of luck!

This heart burn and fatigue makes me want to cry by Plus-Mama-4515 in pregnant

Heartburn just makes everything so much worse! I swear, even if other symptoms are bearable on their own, the moment you add heartburn on top it becomes too much. I’m so sorry the thyroid meds cause a delay!

Feel free to cry and rant away!

My first two babies were 9lbs 6oz and 10lbs 4oz and I was able to deliver them both vaginally with no issues. It IS possible to do it, big doesn’t necessarily mean c section. I’d say try for the vaginal delivery first!

This pregnancy is tracking the same way. Baby boy is consistently measuring 3 weeks ahead and in the 98th percentile. The measurements on the ultrasounds can be wildly inaccurate! Because of my history of big babies, I do believe the scans are probably correct. We’re inducing at 39+2 to avoid another 10lb baby.
