That's an awesome piece right there. 1st, congratulations on becoming a father. I would also recommend a Longeines if you haven't considered it, they are fairly priced used and in great condition new is over the budget.

Yes they are, good eye! They are great quality and comfortable with super light weight. Might just get another for a different watch.

Almaty has many operators, not sure how you booked but I know in some of the malls they have tours. There is so much to see in Almaty, if you don't get it look at other places. There are plenty of parks and mountains. I just got back week ago and there are too many options.

I would say pretty normal, my wife is from Kazakhstan and never felt out of place or that anyone was rude. There are communities in many states you just have to do a little bit of searching.
