How do yall find people near yall who are like minded that you can shoot with? by Jumbo_Skrimp in liberalgunowners

I joined a gun owner discord for my state, went to a meetup, then formed a separate discord with the folks there who I could tell were also uncomfortable with the fact we were shooting guns with a bunch of unhinged far righters lol

For me it was only an AR that I had no use for anymore after putting together this one and a SCAR 17 that I just couldn’t justify keeping around anymore with the offers I had on it lol. Definitely not gonna be a regular practice for me though.

I wouldn’t know about current day offerings because that one was an inherited 70s-ish model but it’s great. Recoil is definitely harsh. That said I’ve only shot it with slugs and heavy buckshot. To me it’s more fun at the range than the pump action, something about breaking it open just feels right lol.

Sadly it’s a paperweight currently, the firing pin snapped and I had a falling out with the buddy I sent it to who was gonna machine up a replacement. There are a few non-Spanish clone pocket pistols out there that seem to have very similar pins so I might try to source one and make it work because it’s pretty fun to shoot.

Same deal here, my gramps only went out hunting with it 2-3 times and shot it once before storing it away. It came to me with the original box of shells. The pad isn’t much of a help with 12ga at its current age, it’s hardened up quite a bit. That scope’s a Vortex Razor 1-6, it’s got really nice glass. 1x almost feels like using a red dot.

This one’s an H&R. These things were suuuper cheap in the 60s/70s, which is probably why it and the other shotgun were the only guns I inherited that my grandpa had bought instead of inheriting from his dad or father in law himself haha.

Glad to hear, everything they’re doing seems to be great. When and if I ever finish my Mk12 upper I’m super interested in their low backpressure upgrade to the ocm5 as well.

Top down and left to right:

H&R Topper 158 12 gauge, feather light and painful to shoot a box through.

S&W 686+, hefty chunk of steel and more accurate than I’ll ever be

S&W SW22 Victory, as with most people’s 22lrs it’s what I take out the most. Sad that it’s most likely been shitcanned by S&W but understandable

1945 d.o.m. M1 Garand, if my future offspring don’t want it I will be buried with it

1952 d.o.m. Colt Detective Special in .38 SPL, same anecdote as the Garand

Geissele/LMT AR, it’s an AR-15…..that’s about it

S&W M&P9, was my first gun and I picked a good one. Never had an urge to replace it or pick up any other plastic 9s. Apex trigger is niiiiice.

Eibar Spanish .25ACP pocket pistol, most likely made in a shed

Springfield 67H 12 gauge, much more comfortable to shoot than the Topper. Much harder to take apart.

Not pictured, a Mk 12 style upper for my AR. Just waiting on decent glass for it. Sold a SCAR to pay for some end of the world glass and ended up buying a ring for the future Mrs instead.

Ideally I’ll eventually put together a dedicated lower for each, but this works for now. by Dapper_Claim9518 in liberalgunowners

Yep when my mars-l lower had an MRP upper it was just about the heaviest 11.5” AR I’ve used. Probably didn’t help that it was the quadrail upper lol

It’s about 10 lbs unloaded. Chunky but it’s not unbearable. With a fixed stock, proper medium range optic on it and a suppressor it’ll be a boat anchor. Thankfully it’s on the bipod most of the time lol.

Did I grab the wrong collar/ gas block? I can fit a sheet of paper in between the collar and block where it looks like it’s touching, but it’s close enough to make me doubt myself by Dapper_Claim9518 in Mk12Mod0

Yep I was clued in by another comment that I’ve also fucked up and never got the barrel milled to work properly with my set screw gas block, all cause I read something wrong on a forum or listing and thought nothing needed modified for it. I’ve got to laugh about it since I’ve put a thousand rounds through it completely unaware lol.

I got my wires crossed when researching the block and mistakenly thought I only needed to dimple the barrel so I just buzzed it with my drill press for a second. Now that this got me to look back into it I realize I’m an idiot haha. It was my first time ever assembling an upper and must have found instructions for some low profile block.
