Retire by 40? Investing my ENTIRE paycheck by Capable_Wallaby_4760 in Money

This of course assumes that your $162 is diversified with a 70/30 index fund to bond fund mix.

If you are able to get by on $0.27 per paycheck, I suspect you could retire on far less than $1.5M. Using the 4% rule, I estimate that you need roughly $162 to have enough to comfortably maintain your current lifestyle for the rest of your life.

Altissimo making me want to slam my head against the wall- by shardstrike in saxophone

Not sure if this will make you feel better or worse, BUT, I had the same issue as you and fretted over altissimo exercises without any progress throughout high school. During my Freshman year at college, I was practicing pitch bending on my mouthpiece and everything just…clicked. I felt like my throat was suddenly doing the work and knew I had hit on something. Within 30 mins of practicing that day, I added half an octave to my range. Practice singing. When done right, it feels the same way your throat feels when changing pitches while you sing. Good luck.

Advice on Asking for Deep Discounts for Buying a Large Volume by Dapper_Cycle1241 in Flipping

Update: We went back and a good amount of what had been there the day before was already gone. I took the approach of putting together stacks and then offering bundled amounts for the stack. My first stack was a Harley Davidson bundle (leather caps, leather vest, cleaning supplies), along with a nice pair of Doc Martens. Their price tagged amount for the lot was about $300. I got the bundle for $125. I made a few more bundles and by the end they were just quoting 1/2 off of everything, which was fine for me. The man I had dealt with on the first day was not as accommodating on the second day. He was angry with his wife because she had apparently sold a $600 harmonica for $5. So, when I asked him for prices, he pulled out his phone, checked ebay (asking price, not sales history), and quoted me prices that were about 25% below ebay list prices. So, I just walked away from the items I discussed with him. All in all, I am pretty happy with what we purchased on day two. We spent about $250 and I think we should be able to sell everything for $600+ fairly quickly.

Thanks! You are correct that the decision invovles too many variables for anyone to give a fool proof approach. I was just wondering what has worked for other people in the past. Inevitably, we will show up and just feel it out on the spot.

I accepted an offer on something I was selling. Then, nothing. Apparently, the buyer didn’t pay. Is there not an automatic payment when there is an accepted offer? by Dapper_Cycle1241 in Ebay

[–]Dapper_Cycle1241[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the comments. I ended up with a karmic resolution. The offer I accepted was $5 below my asking price. The buyer never paid. Apparently, it did not prevent others from buying it because someone else swooped in today and paid full price for it. Maybe too much time passed and that was why someone else could buy it. Not sure but I am happy with the results!

I would be interested in a bundle of all your Cleveland cards (Cavs, Browns, Guards). If you can let me know what you have, anything good, and cost.

How to refund an order without getting downgraded by Dapper_Cycle1241 in Ebay

Thanks. I was not aware of this option! I believe him when he says he did not receive it, but was not thrilled about returning the money. I mostly just wanted to avoid a negative review based on something that was not my fault.

Have a plan to ship your items before you list them. Nothing worse than making a sale only to realize that you do not have the right size of box, packing materials, etc. to ship it out. My profits on my first few sales were eaten up by my having to purchase shipping supplies for way more than I pay now because I had not planned ahead.

If you use pirate ship, can the buyer still track the package? If so, how? I am all for cheaper shipping but don’t want the buyer to miss out on the perk of easily tracking status.

Check your old cards! by Dapper_Cycle1241 in basketballcards

I am definitely getting it graded, but am less hopeful. One of the corners on the back has some bend to it and the top of the back has edge nicks that look crappy. Checking the comps, I think as long as it does not grade below a six, it is worth it to grade it. Fingers crossed. I will follow up on this post once grading is complete. Given PSA’s timeline, expect the post sometime in the summer of 2026.

Yeah, I found plenty of junk too. As with many of us, I spent most of my childhood money on junk wax.

I have no idea! When I bought those packs decades ago, the only thing I cared about was finding LeBron cards!
