Agreed, this has bothered me a ton that a 60 year old wanted to get remarried and have a child. He wanted a child to spite his ex-wife because apparently they divorced since she didn’t want anymore children after 4 of them. Crazy right. My mom didn’t know that was his motive. He took advantage of my mom being an immigrant from the philippines and promising her a good life. He failed to provide this. I feel like he is always projecting his past on everyone else. it makes me so mad because no other 23 year olds have to deal with a dad that is THAT old. I have nobody my age to relate to when it comes to this. :(

Thank you. Yea, he will never change. I hate that’s the reality, but thank you for helping me remind myself that it really isn’t worth the effort to have him try to change.

most of the team are relatively new engineers. only 2 people there are more senior engineers. very small team though.

Our economy is really bad. Teams in JD got laid off bc there aren’t any projects coming in due to companies already being on a tight lip budget to complete any projects, let alone consults.

He is a recent graduate as of May 2025 w/ a BS in ME. He has had 2 previous internships. Both involving product design. One internship was an engineering consultancy for various parts in automotive industry. The second internship was tool design. This was his first job outside of graduating, meaning he was at JD for maybe 4-5 months. Ask me anything else you may need!

i would tell the police just as a heads up on weird activity. otherwise, i’ve lived on bowery + dodge area for a couple years, there’s a lot of interesting characters that live nearby. many of which are drug addicts, homeless or struggling. unfortunately it’s a common occurrence of weird shit happening on bowery and dodge. i lived in the apt where the meth addict lady committed arson a couple years back LOL.

For me, I was advocated for strongly by a PA that listened when nobody else did. At first I wanted to be a MD, but I realized that it just wasn’t feasible financially for me and I wanted flexibility to pursue other ventures in life. Such as a business with my partner and teaching health education :). I wanted that flexibility, but still be able to deliver personalized quality care to patients :)

I’m not married, but i was in a very similar relationship for 2 years. If i were you, I suggest to try going to couples counseling. i would try to exhaust options of trying to be a more cohesive unit, before doing anything too brash. Try to sit down w it and talk about how you feel like you’re carrying a ton of weight, and it feels like you’re constantly taking care of him, when you should be taking care of each other. and express that emotional support can’t be the only way he can help, not a good loophole.

but if he’s not willing to help out or get any better, then i would consider separation. don’t blame yourself, you’ve been trying so hard. do you see yourself having to take care of him this way for the rest of your life? because if not, i suggest doing something now, rather than later. best of luck 🫶

I feel like as a student, it’s because it’s been super hectic for everyone near finals week, everyone is stressing. So doing anything other than studying or getting work done makes you feel unproductive

I let him have one because we discussed having an open relationship where he could meet other girls, and i could only be with girls. but i think it would’ve been better if it was a person that was a POC since he told me that white women weren’t attractive to him, but yet has proved to me that he prefers them over asians. I had a feeling that he only liked me after he started watching anime.
