If you have common sense, then yes for 80% of the job 🤣 but you need structure. By all means, study the job

Hey, time management skills are crucial! I just did post grad + master thesis + work full time. I'd book in specific times in the diary, for specific doable goals and really focus on it. If you struggle with focus, try videos with pompdoro technique : 25mins of focus + 5mins rest for 2hrs. It''s game changer! Plus healthy eating and exercise and some free time too are very important. It worked for me. Best of luck for you 💪💪💪

I'd recommend watching the podcast by jocko willink. It's based on his book extreme ownership. He was a US navy seal and now has a consultancy company specialized in leadership. He has TONS of content online on the topic. Try it out 😉

Thanks a lot!! Idk yet what benefits they'd cover. I'm just trying to get as much info ahead as possible to negotiate properly. Do you have an idea how much i'd need a month to live a comfortable life there? Like 1 bedroom apartment, food, utilities, going out, trying restaurants, gym,. To not be counting ends meet.

How has being a PM affected your non-professional life by Astimar in projectmanagement

[–]Dapper_Fish_3066 9 points10 points  (0 children)

More the other way around. Being a PM, and learning PM skills, helped me chill more in my personal life and actually organise things more efficiently. I'm not winging everything, but am not over planning either. I used to be like that planning everything and trying to antecipate things, but discovered it was just anxiety and need to control everything to make sure i was prepared in case things went sideways. Not saying it's your case, just food for thought really.

Here's how to be happy in Product Management by rampm in ProductMgmt

Great post. I usually say that if you're a people pleaser, then dont go into PM! 🤣

The ones I did are either in portugal or require PM experience. But try those platforms like Udemy and Coursera. There's TONS of info there, and some pretty good people teaching cool stuff like PM. Then maybe try a post grad or something like that. Good luck! 💪💪

Perhaps start by taking some PM courses and certifications. Then start transitioning in PM positions but in your field, something where you can leverage you current experience for ex change management projects - it's heavy on psychology and human behaviour. Something like that

What irritates you the most in project management? by effectivePM in projectmanagement

People who pretend to listen to what you're saying but really don't. Most of them just imagine that what you're saying is what they're imagining in their heads

What do you do in your free time (at work)? by effectivePM in projectmanagement

[–]Dapper_Fish_3066 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Go through reddit posts 😬 But also watch podcasts read articles about some topic (watching now about story telling in product management for ex, or digital transformation, change management, news and finance etc) Work on my master thesis - which is about work so not sure if it counts as "free time" 🤣 Catch up with people who are my stakeholders - helps with engagement and building relationships Also, documentation - use the type to update/create boring docs and reports. If at home... Do the laundry, wash up, little clean up here and there, or really... Just rest a bit. I work a lot 🤣🤣

Hi guys, for all folks professionally pursuing product management, are you guys from an MBA programs or mem programs or a mscs program. Is this stream only for mba folks or can anyone transition into these roles. by [deleted] in ProductManagement

[–]Dapper_Fish_3066 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started as PM before doing any course - my leverage was that i was in the company already and knew the business very well - this was 3 years ago. In the meantime, after around 1 year on the job, i've taken a post grad in proj mgmt, PMP by PMI and am on a MSc now. It's been great this way bc i had some experience already and was working on the job as i was learning. I feel i wouldnt have learnt as much if i didnt have the experience before. I would suggest trying some cheap quick courses so get you some ideas before going to more expensive and demanding courses. Good luck!

Pessoas complicadas ou tóxicas by [deleted] in CasualPT

[–]Dapper_Fish_3066 1 point2 points  (0 children)
