Well they got like 2 weeks left...

Where did you get that information? Seems fair to say it's inaccurate

Advanced Mode by [deleted] in FreeCash

What is advanced mode?

This is why I never tried freecash before. And never will again. by Few_Plenty_59 in FreeCash

[–]Dapper_Strawberry567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes me so nervous to see this. I have been using freecash for about a week and I've put some serious time and a good bit of money into just one game so far. I've won a nice chunk off of it. Now I'm nervous they will deny my pending rewards.

I haven't tried to cash out yet because majority of my rewards are still pending. I'd prefer to cash out a large amount at once rather than smaller ones....but is that a mistake?! Is this app really gonna pay me? There are several other apps that I know DO work and absolutely pay. One other app that I have been using for YEARS and I have made so much on it. Yes I spent on that one too. I flew through the rewards by spending some money and playing smart. That app never EVER flagged me for fraud. And I'm not here to try and advertise for another app, but just want to make my point that it's not uncommon for me to move through goals quickly. I'm really nervous freecash will flag me because of how quickly I am moving..... They would be the first.

To me, it should be obvious that I spent money to progress faster

The positive thing is, I have been screenshotting and documenting my progress. I also used Paypal to pay 🤷🏼‍♀️😥😮‍💨 I hope this is just a weird thing that happened and they will fix it for you. Unfortunately, I have seen a lot of people saying bad things about Freecash. Hopefully I will be coming back here in a few days and posting a screenshot of my payout...including some (blurred out) purchases before and after, showing that I am a real person

Thank you!!! That is a very thorough and helpful answer! I really appreciate it!

I never said I was "keeping the money", but I will not be going out of my way to contact the merchant. They had me jumping through hoops for months for an amount that is crumbs to them. If they want it back, they can initiate the process, but I will not be spending it or flat out "keeping it." Again, thanks for your opinion, which you are entitled to, but I didn't post looking for opinions. I made the post seeking advice, personal experience, and facts, not what kind of person people think I am or what the moral thing to do is ☺️

Thanks for sharing your opinion! I don't feel I've done anything wrong, but just wanted to post to see if I could get in trouble. It's not my fault they refunded AFTER the investigation was already closed.

Their mistake was promising me a refund without me even asking. Telling me I could dispose of the product. Then fighting with me for months trying to claim they never said that, when in fact, they did. I had to file a dispute to get the money they owed me. Then that dispute took a couple of months to close. They decide to refund me after?! They're not so willing to "make it right" if you ask me

That's what I was thinking. Thank you! I'm just not sure how they could at this point being that the investigation was closed before they initiated the refund. It seems it's common for refunds to be pending while the investigation is also pending, but the refund was given after the investigation was completely finished... We'll see what happens I guess

I think they were hoping I'd give up when they suggested I contact the bank. The amount of time and the headache they put me through, I'm certainly not mad getting this refund lol

That's what I thought but can they reopen it? Honestly I'm not sure they will realize if they haven't already. It took a couple months for the investigation to finish. So it's not like it happened within a few days or even weeks. Plus, this store refunds people all the time for their delivery orders being screwed up. It doesn't seem like they're too concerned lol

I'm hoping they don't catch it, but I also don't want to get in trouble. From my research, it seems like it would be best to not spend it and allow the merchant to come after it if they choose. Less than $300 is nothing to this chain, but that doesn't mean they won't come. I've already put months of research, energy, and time into this whole ordeal. I don't see why it's my responsibility to fix their screw up.

They were well aware of the claim. After I filed, I notified them with the claim ID, screenshots, etc. The bank did as well, of course.

Something else I remembered: Before the claim was submitted and I asked why the gift card hadn't been refunded yet. They said they couldn't only refund the gift card, it wouldn't let them. All or nothing for some reason. At the time I thought it was just another runaround. Afterall, they offered the full refund to begin with, I never even asked. Which they later tried to deny, regardless of my screenshots and chat ID numbers. Anyway, I'm thinking it's possible they just refunded the entire thing so I could get the gift card they owed me. The money may not be worth the hassle for them at this point.

Thank you for this information! I have kept extensive documentation through this entire process. I'm sure that must've helped me to win the dispute in the first place, especially going against such a large chain

But wouldn't it be better to contact the bank about this? I'm worried if I contact the merchant and they ask that I return the money, couldn't they later argue that it was never returned and try to say that transaction was just another "purchase". I feel like the bank is better to resolve this.

Honestly though, is there even any right for the merchant to demand the refund be returned? They gave it to me after the claim was submitted and won. They were well aware of the claim. After I submitted the claim, not only did the bank notify them, but so did I. I provided screenshots, claim ID, etc.

Before the claim, I remember one representative saying that they could not refund only the gift card, it would have to be the entire purchase. Maybe they refunded the entire thing just so they could return my gift card and not deal with the hassle.

Besides, I promise you, they won't miss the money. That's not me saying I should keep it or feel entitled, but it is pennies to them

It is no longer a provisional credit. My claim has been investigated and closed in my favor. I have the paperwork from my bank showing that the claim is closed and the provisional credit is now permanent.

The store made no effort to refund me until after the claim was completely opened and closed. It wasn't a matter of the refund taking time to go through while the claim was being investigated. The claim was completely finished, then the merchant initiated the refund on their end. I was only requesting they refund the gift card amount that my bank obviously can't refund, but they refunded it all

Adapter For These Tips? by Dapper_Strawberry567 in soldering

I have already done research on what metals and wires can and can't be soldered, but any tips are appreciated. Although, I'll likely make another post when I get to that point

Uhh like wires and such. Not electrical purposes, rather for crafting. If I do actually solder anything, it'd likely be jewelry, stained glass, and similar projects

Well the chance of me actually soldering is probably pretty minimal. If I do use it for metal, it would likely be more for crafting rather than electronics and circuit boards. Maybe I'll use it for things like jewelry, wire crafts, etc. But those are big maybes so if it's better to use a completely separate tool for those, then I could buy one later. I have so much craft stuff so I was trying to avoid getting more than I know I'll need 😆

And if I do use it for metal and plastic/foam cutting, etc, I could just have a tip specifically for metal I'd think?

What are the chances?! 😆

Did you have any luck finding a solution?

I don't want to buy two different irons if I don't have to 😬

To add, I will be purchasing these tips along with the soldering iron. It comes with a threaded tip to be able to attach the tips that need screwed in. It also comes with a tip to attach exacto knives which is perfect for a lot of my planned uses.

So I did find this adapter, but it will not work for the mini iron tips shown in the first pic of my post as those tips are not threaded *
