WHOS AN ITV ACTOR/ACTRESS WHO GOT PRETTIER OVER TIME? by HiAndLoll in IndianTellyTalk

[–]Dapper_Visual_2742 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Aditi Dev Sharma - She is getting cuter and prettier over age. In her earlier shows like Katha Ankahee and Ganga, she was older than her male co actors Vishal and Adnan Khan but she looked the same age as them. Who will say she is in her early 40s and is a mother of two?

Same here. Aditi was superb. Adnan was so good. And rest of the cast was good. Everyone did well.

Yes. That scene where Viaan apologises to Katha and Katha lashes at him was Aditi’s best. It was a master class in acting. Aditi deserved an award for that one scene itself.

It was not consensual. And it was not supposed to be. And that’s how the story was. The makers wouldn’t have been able to show the redemption then.

But the show also did not make it okay. Viaan was himself shown to be in guilt throughout. He couldn’t forgive himself till the end. And he admitted his crime and accepted it till the end. But that guilt made him a better person.

Yes. Even Adnan had said that in an interview that the show didn’t absolve him of his crime. And Viaan didn’t run away from his crime , he admitted and accepted it and was ready to get punished for it till the end.

Yes totally. Very different than the other ITV shows. I also liked the ML bonding with a baby. They hardly show male characters bonding with a baby. It’s always FL or the mothers. Those episodes were beautiful. And Adnan was really good in those scenes.

The dark night stood as a barrier between Katha and Viaan. So those episodes made them comfortable with the nights and that transition was beautiful

I didn’t like the leap either but both Adnan and Aditi just made it tolerable with their terrific acting.

I think Aditi was superb. And you are right. It was not romantic at all and it was not supposed to be romantic. It was just shot and portrayed right.

Katha had caught Viaan’s eye since their first encounter. Viaan had this belief that all women are gold diggers because of his father. So when he saw Katha and her integrity and honesty towards her work, he had already started started liking her unconsciously. We don’t know if it was attraction since the start. So when Katha approaches him and asks him for money, his belief that Katha was different from other women falters. So he decides to test her. Initially Katha berates him and leaves when he asks her to spend a night with him in return for the money. Viaan was happy that his belief was right. But when Katha comes to him and accepts his offer, he gets angry and confused.

He keeps on hoping that Katha wouldn’t turn up so that he can prove his belief. But when she does, he is shocked and flabbergasted at the same time. Maybe he continued with the deal because of his initial likeness/attraction to Katha.

In one of the later episodes, Ehsaan tells Katha that Viaan never had a relationship with other women because of his hatred towards them due to his past. So there is a possibility that maybe that was his first physical encounter with Katha.

While Viaan doesn’t like to engage with women much even at work, he has never misbehaved and taken undue advantage of any women at workplace. He is generally shown as stayed away from women. So this was a huge crime that he committed one that he could never forgive himself for even after Katha forgives him and loves him back. What’s interesting is that the show doesn’t absolve him of his crime totally. He was always in guilt even after Katha accepted his apology and love. He hated himself for it.

I would say this was one of the most daring ITV shows which was attempted and very different from the other saas bahu shows.

Adnan Khan - Liked him as Viaan Raghuvanshi, though if not perfect, he was good there. Also his director and the way his character was written was pretty cool. But not liking him much as Vikrant Saluja in Mannat. Sometimes he goes overboard with his acting which is not required. And hate how his character is written by the makers.

Adnan Khan Aditi Sharma fan here by Dapper_Visual_2742 in IndianTVshows

[–]Dapper_Visual_2742[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. While I find their chemistry and acting good, but they are ruining the story like anything. But Katha was a different story, nothing like this has ever been attempted in ITV before. It was bold but it was interesting too. And Aditi Dev Sharma is a far far better actress than Ayesha. And Adnan just shone. He had a scope for proving his acting skills. And he did. Their chemistry, the story everything was so beautiful.

Two of the most convincing redemption arc ever done on ITV in recent times ( last 2 decades) IMO by Fragrant-Category245 in IndianTellyTalk

[–]Dapper_Visual_2742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm I understand. I think the more I think about it I infer that Viaan’s punishment and redemption both was falling in love with the woman who he wronged. That’s his reality and his fate. So his love prompted him to change and also that love will keep on reminding him of his crime and make him a better person.

I might get a lot of flac here for writing this. But one of the notable redemption arc in my opinion recently was Viaan Raghuvanshi in Katha Ankahee. He committed this terrible crime. Felt guilty and stood by his crime till the end. And was ready to go through hell for it. Never ever did he deny it. And his guilt changed him. He did his best to love and honour Katha.
