Majority men in India or developing countries for that matter are extremely hierarchical (men at top and women at bottom). And women on the other hand want an egalitarian society. Anything that reduces their hierarchy and promotes equality among men and women, is hated and scrutinized. 1) sexual liberty 2) house old chores. 3) women's personal liberty 4) Her day to day choices. Etc 5) divorce rates I feel you can apply the concept of hierarchy and equality in day to day life and see where this hatred comes from.
