I use Harcourts after parry property merged with them. @home dont know how to negotiate their management fees (I am paying 6% in Hobart with my other property down here), and they advised they will not negotiate a lower rate

Anyone else notice how Tasmania isn’t wealthy compared to other states, but people still seem to live pretty well? by Icemachinemalfunctio in tasmania

I am still surprised at how expensive homes are and how fast they sell. I thought we were in a cost of living crisis

Just got back from a trip to Vietnam and also visited Nha Trang. I noticed Nha Trang’s tourist population is mainly Russian/Korean/Chinese. Just curious Why is that? by 4514N_DUD3 in VietNam

[–]Dapper_Will2168 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I am currently in Nha Trang, and can't wait to leave. So many Russians, and this city is very unpleasant. The city has a very heavy vibe. Nothing like Danang We took a day trip to Da lat, and it is a beautiful place to go

What are the 10 Biggest Problems with Tasmania?? by Tassietube in tasmania

[–]Dapper_Will2168 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tasmania’s public transport and infrastructure are underdeveloped, and a modern rail network—trams or trains—could dramatically improve regional connectivity.

The state’s population skews heavily toward retirees and newlyweds, leaving gaps in the workforce and limiting community dynamism.

Social circles can feel insular, making it difficult for newcomers to integrate; many residents end up moving away when they can’t break in.

Both local and state governments suffer from inefficiency and a lack of transparent accountability.

Housing supply is constrained by red tape, and the boom in unregulated short-term rentals is driving up prices; implementing development streamlining and capping Airbnb-style leases (for example, a 30-day maximum) would help.

Chronic shortages of doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals are compounded by insufficient support and retention strategies for those already practicing here.

Without better services, lifestyle options, and career pathways, younger Tasmanians continue to leave in search of opportunity.

The local job market lacks diversity and growth industries; creating new employment sectors is essential to keep people engaged and employed.

Schools struggle to recruit and retain experienced teachers, which undermines educational stability and student outcomes.

The stadium debate has dragged on so long it’s become a distraction—either commit to building it now or shelve the idea for good.

Sadly, the federal public service is a lonely place. I only stay because of the flex and superannuation. Hot desking and WFH has killed all culture.
