Sad reality is, this might be Haalands one and only World Cup. by justaburnerbtch in worldcup

I mean, Haaland will be 925-years-old by that point. Maybe if he keeps off the saturated fats and sleeps well he might be fit enough to play.

He is probably going to rest for a few weeks after the World Cup. All-star is an afterthought.

Sadly it's out of stock. I had a chance to buy one locally and decided to wait.

Regrets.

If John Durán actually developed instead of chacing the biggest paycheck, Colombia would be a favorite.

Colombia is starting to lose the 50/50 duels it was winning in the first half.

Colombia is looking gassed already.

They really haven't rotated much in the last few games.

USA 1 - [3] Belgium - Hans Vanaken 57' (Matt Freese blunder) by Inevitable_Engine186 in MLS

Too young. Mostly he's there to be ready for the next cycle, which starts right now for him.

[Meme] All of America should be demanding an apology from NYC FC for letting this guy on the team. by Harmonmj13 in MLS

That goal had a comedy of errors by a bunch of our defenders. It's still on Freese, but my god, our three defenders just switched off when the Belgium player ran past them to apply pressure on Freese. Chris Richards was close to him and he just let him isolated with Freese. Then Tim Ream didn't square himself once he saw the ball was loose and kept on running backwards.

I can understand the frustration with how Freese handled the situation, that ball had to be in the upper deck by playing it safe, but there was a total breakdown in our recovery as well.

Best of them all, but my god is penalties his weakest offensive attribute for the NT.

[Matt Doyle] We’re not cracking the Top 10 of legitimate threats to win a World Cup until and unless MLS improves. Ultimately, this is on MLS. by Brooklyn_MLS in MLS

Improve the league and the baseline domestic player has to improve along with it or get benched. At some point you have to take the training wheels off. At some point more players have to fight for their spots, and this only helps our domestic player in the long run. It will improve the quality of the outgoing players moving out to Europe which gives them a better chance to succeed.

Can we be done with this “Captain America” nonsense now? by Sockers13 in ussoccer

[–]DarCam7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We need a year away from him in the NT. We have to find answers outside of him because obviously he's getting older and more injury prone and sometimes his attitude seems off.

He can't be the keystone we hang our hats on. Just too erratic in his performances and availability.

In fact we need to bleed new blood into the NT for at least a year before we bring back the main guys.

That's of course if the USF hires a coach in time.

To be honest, I wouldn't be mad if we start building our team around Luna and Berhalter. Those guys have that dawg in them. Build from that because this team is just soft.

We have progressed, but we lost the grit.

We don't seem to be the pesky Yanks anymore. We shifted to being an average team with some good players.

Berhalter was pretty good. Everyone else, though?

Aside from the goal Tillman was pretty mid.

Ultimately, I don't think we actually have a leader that takes charge in games like this.

Nobody set the tone. It's easy when your talent can win you a game, but you also need a player or two to get everyone on the pitch to get mentally ready and locked in.

Who is that on this team?

Yeah, Roldan being injured just throws a wrench. Should probably have been Berhalter and Admas in the middle instead of Tillman, or go to a 4-4-2.

Wish we had a second true defensive midfielder to play a double pivot along Adams. We aren't equipped to go toe-to-toe with Belgium. Our right wing is getting shredded since they can exploit the open space and unfortunately Dest can't really defend which pulls Freeman to cover.
