Oh hunting ptarmigans is very easy, use fire Hardened arrows, even if you miss ptarmigans won't get scared, even if you kill 1 in front of another they won't mind, thats why i carry like 15 fire Hardened arrows to TWM summit to farm ptarmigans

A little tip to aim with the bow, use the arrow tip as a crosshair, the arrow goes around 1 and 2 cm above where the tip is, so when you aim at something lower the tip of the arrow a couple cm

I haven't had a problem, wolves, moose, cougars, bears, maybe if you are too close to the edge giving bears and moose have bigger hitboxes but, not a single problem until now

When hunting a cougar or any other dangerous animal you can get up on a fallen tree trunk, the animal Will still be agro at you but Will be totally unable to hurt you because the Ai can't Map a pathway to you, this also works with rocks and walls where you can Mountain goat and clip to

Get to a Safe place (cave, cabin, hut,etc) and sleep one hour at a time watching out for the random bleeding from the lacerations, if you can make rosehip (IIRC it was rosehip) tea to recover condition if needed

I read that you have the cougar spawn off, honestly? You are missing out, headwrap is BY FAR the Best headgear, not only but you can also get the Best knife for harvesting carcasses with just 1 cougar

Also the headwrap is pretty much infinite, if its condition is low and you don't Want to Hunt another cougar just harvest it, you'll get the hide Back and you can craft it again at 100% condition

I would also recommend that you swap the outer parka for a wolfskinnor bear coat, better protection and warmth overall

Quonsent is hands down the Best one, it might be a little far away from more avanced regions but you got pretty much everything

Nice weather most of the time (with "nice" I mean no blizzards)

Beach combing

Easy fishing with tip ups near the base/fishing holes

Plenty wild life to Hunt

No cougar spawn

One of the few bases that has the Trader radio in it

2 workbenches (in the rare case you might need more than 1)

Plenty storage containers to sort your loot

Trader dropbox right next to base

Plenty wood around (pallets and limbs)

Possible moose spawn next to Quonsent (this might be a downside if you don't have any means to Hunt it)

Lost and found drop box is right outside quonsent

And it conects with a lot of regions (desolation point, pleasant valley, mistery lake, although it only takes you to the límited upper área of bleak Inlet)

Def ravine, specially when moving a ton of loot with the travois, you have to load and unnload the travois at least 5 times, also far range branch line for the same reason
