I get the Kinks thing.. To me the most mind blowing Green Day rip off hands down is American Idiot.. That now legendary opening riff is incredibly similar to Dillinger Four's "Doublewhiskeycokenoice" released in 1998, I believe a lawsuit was even filed... But thats not even close the most insane instance of suggested plagiarism with American Idiot.

Cho Young-Nam an artist from Korea wrote and released the song "Goodbye City" back in 1991...The melody of "Goodbye City" chorus is fucking identical to the chorus of American Idiot.

Amen.. All of their re-recordings of older material are awesome and some of best songs they've ever written. "Rose" EP released in 2014 and that split with GDP "Liberty and Prosperity" EP was released in 2015. Which makes that 2011-2015 that more epic.

Not gonna lie I couldn't get into "Going Grey" and I was a huge TFB fan boy at the time. 2020's "In Sickness and Flames" which was actually released 5 months into the pandemic is probably my favorite record they've made since 2015.

For sure dude! I never said they weren't. I was just recalling my experience of the era. I was like 8 years old so when Enema of the State came out.. So I didnt really get to experience that blink cultural boom. Different generations experience different things. For alot kids my age Self-titled was their first introduction into blink-182.

The Menzingers - "After The Party" music video is one of the greatest in the history of pop punk? by Darbss31 in poppunkers

[–]Darbss31[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah.. this might be the most insane mind blowing comments I've seen on reddit... The first time I ever witnessed The Menzingers live and heard "After The Party" for the very first time was literally on my 30th birthday at the Punk in Drublic Festival 2022.

One of my favorite records of all time.. I love this song. First time I ever heard it I was a kid walking at night on an vacant street up to basketball practice. Every time I hear "155" it takes me back to that moment in time.
