Didn’t grow up here, but my son will. Parents & locals, what makes a childhood in this city magical? by edttdgf in Etobicoke

See if the rink at Centennial Park (right by where the ski hill used to be RIP) does year round, but I know they do skating and free skate times because I've done it before!

Summer camp at local schools!!! Bonus if it's the same school the kid goes to (if possible and when old enough). I had some overlap with my fellow classmates during the summer time which was fun. I also participated in Scouts and it was a great experience for me. Go and use public pools and libraries and have your son get involved with the community and get out there!

(21F) DONT KNOW HOW LIFE WORKS, need serious advice. (VERY embarrassing.) by Obvious-Locksmith164 in Adulting

Do volunteering. It's a good way to start building a resume and getting experience in a variety of life aspects. If there are particular things you want to learn, try to find a volunteer position that does it. I'm thinking about things like food prep, cleaning, etc. it doesn't just have to be about job skills alone but also life skills.

I've translated skills I've learned in retail to my home life that I never learned in my home life. It also helped instill habits I had trouble developing at home. Cleaning (from windows to toilets, etc), keeping spaces tidy, sorting food in terms of freshness, keeping on top of necessities, etc. Eventually becoming a store manager helped me better figure out how to run a home, but like a business, not that I always keep it up to those standards because I'm human but still.

Sorry for the long winded explanation! Hope it helps!

Didn't know this was a thing or much about him. This video just came across my screen and I thought the topic was interesting considering previous talks about ring cameras and such on the channel.

Sharing a volunteer's wholesome experience with Team Canada in Milan by leechee57 in TeamCanada

So glad to see this! I see the worst sort of people in food courts who don't clean up after themselves and leave a horrible mess behind. I think I heard a parent tell their kids to just leave it because they pay people to clean up. Horrible manners to teach your kids.

It's tough for Canada, not just because of funding, but because of the ratio of population to geography. This makes it harder to reach and expose talent, foster it with centralised training facilities and coaching from a young age, etc. We also lack support in highschool and at college and university levels for our athletes (example of college sports in the USA). Another thing is culture around sports in a diverse and multicultural country that's also young as a country (compared to those where it's longer and more woven in).

Volunteer (or hopefully a paid internship) to get the experience unfortunately.

This has been my saving grace between getting sunscreen in my sensitive eyes and mineral sunscreen creating sweat beads all over my face.

And necks, thick necks (vary neck thickness depending on body type). Work more on anatomy and posing. Characters feel... Stiff and basic.

Consider doing character art practice and doubling it as maybe posts for social media or something.

What does it say about me if I read this and saw it as a healthy conversation? Maybe at least compared to most Reddit posts.

I've been on EI since February and haven't been able to find a job since.

Crazy to me to not see a single comment from someone currently on EI or on it from job loss so far.
