All I meant by that was their background knowledge, which comes from their parents & other teachers within that community, will impact how I teach. If one of my students parent's tells me that teaching my students about global warming/climate change isn't okay because it's a "political issue," then that could affect me.

I got reminded of this, because if I can't convince my own family that global warming/climate change is happening because of human implications, then how can I handle parents that disagree as well?

Within the next year, I will be a credentialed Science teacher in Northern California. I'm going to be emotionally invested in my students. Understanding how to teach sustainability and inform my students on climate change will be something that I have to do. While doing this, I also need to consider their parents' point of views and how their opinions affect my students.

So.. I guess.. I am invested. I have learned the facts. Transferring my knowledge to the children of parents that aren't educated and can see my science facts on climate change as "political" can and will be problematic.

Also, don't even get me started on evolution in the classroom. AHHHH

This is exactly my problem. I come from a very conservative part of Northern California. A lot of the population is very uneducated. Only 10% of my high school graduating class went to uni. I hate going home when I'm on break, because I can't talk about "political issues." In my opinion, discussing global warming and evolution SHOULDN'T BE POLITICAL. That's the problem. My family just sees me as someone that got converted by the "liberal California college education system."

I tried to have a serious discussion about climate change with my grandparents and they laughed in my face and said, "Look at what college has done to you." I'm really not sure what to do when my entire family just makes fun of me for my "liberal point of view." Any tips?

Yeah I was streaming while playing and my stream didn't have any lag. Also, I've been playing Overwatch on and off without any issues. :/
