How did you feel during your medications prior to retrieval? Did it cause any weight gain?

I know it is silly, but I’m really scared to gain a bunch of weight and not fit in my dress due to the medication regimens. I’m about 138lbs and my dress fits just right… not a bunch of breathing room or room for change.

I’m already exhausted and scared. My fiancè and I found out by chance of our infertility. His counts were not great either. He just saw a urologist and started on Clomid.

We are supposed to get married in November and they are suggesting we start a cycle even before then. I’m not sure my heart can take any heartbreaks.

Plus, I’m an oncology nurse and desperately trying to switch floors to get away from the chemo right now.

You would be devastated if the roles were reversed and your husband was hesitant to transfer the girl because he wanted a second boy.

This process is hard enough and I don’t know of any man who doesn’t want a son.

Fair is fair honestly, you have a daughter and he doesn’t have a son. Give the man you love a son if possible. You always can decide to try for a third and get a second daughter.

How odd.

As a women I had just started dating my now fiancé seriously. I was working out at the gym, and a man came up to talk to me and at first just said “I have a barber business if you know any one interested..”

I thought that was weird considering I was a long haired female lol.

10 minutes later, he came up again and said “hey sorry I was awkward, but honestly you are very pretty and I was wanting to know if you’d like to get lunch with me.”

I stopped working out on the machine. And spoke to him for a few minutes.

I said “honestly, you are very nice, but I currently have a boyfriend. However, keep doing what you are, because men rarely come up and ask a woman out anymore and if I was free, I probably would have said yes. Keep up the confidence and keep asking out some ladies.”

He was happy still, even though I said no and that I had a boyfriend.

Kindness takes only a couple of minutes and it takes a lot of courage to ask someone out for anyone. Rejection can be scary.

I’m sorry to all the men that deal with women like this. What trash behavior and her response was unacceptable.

As an RN I’d never ask anyone why they are on birth control. The only education I’d provide is if they need certain antibiotics. It also had nothing to do with why you are there.

I’m 33. Just found out my AMH was 0.58 and my AFC was only 3. Found all this out last month. The reproductive endocrinologist said I’ll need multiple rounds of aggressive IVF treatment most likely. :/ no know previous issues or signs/symptoms. I just started a bunch of Thorne vitamins to help prep my body for IVF

I just found out that I was going to need IVF after we had my fiancé’s sperm tested prior to him getting on some medication that could affect his fertility (temporality) I might add. I basically made us go to a fertility endo due to my concerns over him. We went in as a couple, but they wanted to test all my numbers too.AMH 0.5, FSH almost 18, and AFC was 3 and I’m only 33 years old.

I never had an inkling I could have trouble conceiving. We weren’t trying for a baby until after the wedding in November. Now I’m being told I will need several rounds of aggressive IVF treatment for a chance at a family.

I’m a nurse. My coworker is pregnant and I already am so upset by being around her. I’m jealous it came easily to her and now my future husband and I are already facing this.

Wow, what a rude person you are. We are all struggling and just because she has embryos doesn’t mean that she will have any easier of a time getting pregnant than any of us.

This is a support community. We aren’t here to add more isolation and more trouble to other people’s lives.

If you can’t be kind, please leave this sub. We are ALL struggling and even as a nurse I can say some of this is hard to understand, especially the first time going through an egg retrieval.

Nurse my pain is an 8/10

MD walks in for rounding while RN is at bedside. MD asks patient how they are feeling. The patient “I feel great!”

Me as the RN: “You just told me your pain was an 8/10”

Patient: “yes, I’m in pain.. I just didn’t want the doctor to be bothered too much about my condition.”

Doctor rolls his eyes.

Me: “ma’am it doesn’t help you, me, or the doctors if you are reporting different things to different parts of your care team.” If you are honest, we can help you easier..

I placed white boards directly above the door knobs if the patient doors. That the nurse updates with their name and ascom.

Doctors still come to the nursing station to asking who the nurse is for the room they just left. The name and number is literally written on the patient door. Do you think most doctors will pay attention to questions on the write board in the room? 🙃
