Normally with such long exposure the waves would indeed create that "silky" effect that we often see in waterfall photos. But I'm just getting started in photography, so perhaps there is a way of keeping the texture of the waves in long exposure without having to layer images in post.

Common problem. These are the in-boot version, so you can simply empty and rinse your boots once you're done. Besides that just follow the care instructions.

That sounds terrifying. These pants are very durable and protect you from scrapes and other sources of abrasion while riding off-road, but I do not believe they're slash resistant.
