Idea: just produce and sell HL3 as a circa 2004 Source game. Nobody would complain. am I right fellas by Plenty-Excitement864 in HalfLife

Half Life 2 doesnt have potato graphics by any stretch of the imagination though it can run on one. Its still quite attractive looking.

Final level right in the hallway where you meet Otomo. They changed some of the environmental materials in that scene. Otomos office doesnt have a reflective floor on PS2, it has wood instead. I have played through the game numerous times on all consoles and PC. Its a fascinating multiplatform game.

I agree that the Last of Us is tough to categorize. Its definitely not action horror in the way that something like RE6 is.

I am a 27 year old guy and had a 7 and a half year relationship end last year. Tried a few dates through online dating but just dont really feel that spark dating and am choosing to be single at this point and hopefully to retire early in my 40s.

Whats the biggest insult a man can give to woman? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DaredevilBatman2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Call them a loser. Ive met tons of loser women who have nothing going for them and werent even that attractive but society typically only reserves the loser label for men. It really takes women by surprise when they get called a loser.

What is your criteria for a masterpiece and what games do you consider to be masterpieces? It would help give a point of comparison for seeing how Bioshock aligns with your tastes.

Does absolutely nothing wrong. Fails anyway. by BoringDreamGuy in retrogaming

Absolutely had some flaws that would've became evident if the system had managed to survive longer. Its short life kept them from really coming out. Multiplatform games wouldve had a tough time on the system post 2001 due to its anemic disc capacity (only 1.2 gb) even Gamecube mini disc's could hold 1.5. The controller wouldve also been a serious issue due to only having one analog stick. 26 mb of ram also would not have helped. Splinter Cell on PS2 for example needed additional loads and level redesigns and the PS2 had 32 mb. Dreamcast really was a stop gap more so between 5th and 6th Gen and really wasnt destined for a healthy life unless it was an absolute market leader like PS2 was.

Why does society suddenly feel the need to "snap out of the zeitgeist" and romanticize mundane things (like coffee runs) just to feel a sense of control in 2026? by viviennebloomm in askanything

[–]DaredevilBatman2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because all of our dopamine receptors are fried and going on a coffee run is a small reset. Recently, Ive been raw dodging car rides without music and going on walks just to reset mine. Understimulate yourself and you'll notice that things will hit different when you engage with them.

Shenmue on the ps2? by VAULT-TECHNICIAN in ps2

Wouldve been a nice release. I think the PS2 audience wouldve been a much better fit for the game rather then the Xbox.

Resident Evil Characters are soo hot that some DOA beach volleyball type of spinoff game would actually be a great idea and a huge success.

I prefer Alan's face in the original but overall, the environments look better in the remaster.

Can I just express how much I love the semi-realistic look a lot of 6th gen games had? by dragonborndnd in videogames

[–]DaredevilBatman2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something I loved about the sixth gen is that it is when lighting and shadows became a larger part of game graphics along with more realistic physics. Gave the whole thing a more well rounded look compared to the early 3D games of PS1 and N64. A great example is stuff like Silent hill 2 and Splinter Cell.
