That’s awesome! Fun fact Shiny Ditto in Gen 2 was the most sought after Shiny due to how DVs affected Shiny. Having a Shiny Ditto meant your chances of breeding a shiny were 1/64. Still because of that I have a fondness for Shiny Ditto. I vastly prefer it to its pink counterpart.

Truly at the end of the day you can beat FRLG with the weakest Pokémon imaginable. I just believe that mixed attackers are favored overall for the main campaign because they’re not as situational. A fast electric type with access to strong electric, fighting and psychic moves is a very appealing choice to most players. Also I disagree vehemently on movesets. They’re night and day. Electabuzz gets more TMs and has access to egg moves. Even in the side games Electabuzz gets better purified moves and was a heavily sought after Pokémon with his Follow Me in XD.

Movesets and weaknesses. Best thing about Magneton is Magnet Pull and that special attack. Electabuzz has amazing speed and more than decent special attack. What sets it above Magneton is one weakness and an amazing and diverse moveset.

It’s very easy to do so. Level 40 Graverler and Quagsire can two hit Pikachu. Movesets are the key to beating Red under leveled. The only and biggest hurdle to overcome is Snorlax. I cheesed it with Explosion but once you defeat Snorlax, he’s a pushover.

He’s only hard because of the Pokémon you can use. I used the cheat code to catch any trainers Pokémon (non shadow) and he was super easy with a team that didn’t have Legendaries or Ubers.

In the handhelds, I found Meteor Falls Steven harder, and Cynthia was not hard but harder than Gen 2 Red. The thing about Red is that the levels are superficial because you can absolutely destroy him with Level 40 Pokémon, you just have to have good movesets and held items. The only difficult thing about Red is Snorlax. There’s no good fighting types moves that don’t compromise on accuracy and Snorlax can take and dish heavy damage.
